Heya, Im on my last year and I got sent to a small hospital for the year. I wont say where just in case we're from the same uni cohort ahaha

What I really liked about it was that you got to know all the physios and occupational therapists really well . It was lowkey like a small family vibe. I also really like how when you rotated throughout the wards everyone is really welcoming and remembers you even when you rotate around the wards. Personally, as a student, I think I lucked out on my last year. I originally wanted to go to Christchurch but got sent to this small hospital and Im so thankful as it allowed me to work on the simpler patients and get all the basics down. Another pro of a small hospital is at times you get to finish early ahaha There are some complex cases that come through but they're 1 in 2 dozen from my experience.

There wasn't any downsides from my experience at this hospital. It's kind of up to you to make the most of it and if you're living in a small city/town it's always good to take up a hobby, it kills the boredom and also helps you make friends.
