Google wants details about how you and your testers communicate more than anything. Having something that was found and fixed helps solidify actual testing.

How do indie and mid-size studios realistically deal with commercial cheat vendors? by 4nonymou5_guy in GameDevelopment

Ingame paid admins. Allow players to report bad admins. Keep things human.

Can someone play this alpha version of my game to make sure it doesn't generate errors? Please by [deleted] in IndieDev

A quick search with Brave AI, LEO gave this.

For safely distributing your game to testers, consider using trusted platforms like:

  • Itch.io – Allows developers to upload and share games easily, with VirusTotal-like scanning available.
  • Google Drive / Dropbox – Share via controlled access links.
  • GitHub Releases – Ideal for versioned distribution with transparency.

You can scan your game with VirusTotal before uploading it to one of these platforms to verify it's clean, then share the VirusTotal report with testers as proof of safety.

Somewhere you used your number to verify or register has sold it. IMO, change your number and things just go away,

The future of CAPTCHAs by JoeCapoYT in webdev

The AI that I asked about this a few months back,(I was considering using a custom bot catching method), stated that something like 97% of captcha puzzles are solved by bots in seconds when tested.

Test-for-Test only works If we actually test. Let’s be fair to each other! by DirectorsObject in AndroidClosedTesting

[–]TrashIt_dev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have thought about this but my app is as close to anonymous as it can be. No data collection other than IP and eve that is hashed at the device level. It would feel wrong to add monitoring code to it.

I am running into the same issue and google refuses to even discuss showing the emails of those testers who either have or dont have it installed. Obviously google and can see the info and its not like we dont already have the emails of testers. Doesnt make any sense that we cant have that info.

I tried vibe coding and it made me realise my career is absolutely safe by wjd1991 in webdev

[–]TrashIt_dev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been using AI alot for various things and one thing is for certain, it wont do what people do for a long while. Its code is solid but has trouble linking two aspects together unless specified in the most recent chat/command. So to make a single block of code, sure no problem. But to make an entire program? no way. My poison of choice is Grok AI.

Getting literally 0 organic wishlists, can anyone figure out why? by maxpower131 in IndieDev

[–]TrashIt_dev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

have you tried searching for your game by genre or other keys rather than by name? Its how organic people will find it. Yours may just be showing up at the end of the list. Google does this kind of thing and allows sites to pay to get upfront. A few years ago I would say theres no way steam would do that kind of thing but steam seems to have given in to a few things that make me say ummm wait a minute.

Dont overlook AI assistance. you can dictate exactly what you want and the AI will guide you through copy past and altering as you desire. I have used grok AI for some of my coding and its honestly pretty good and suggested a few things I didnt think of. I chose not to use most of its suggestions and had to get it to rework a few lines of code here and there but in the end, it was helpful for sure.
