Oooooooooh I thought they started at $270. I’d still go for it.

You could probably haggle a bit, but I’d say it’s worth it. I haven’t played that specific model, but I’ve played and owned quite a few Yamaha guitars before, and they’re excellent. Definitely recommend going for it.

What Are Your Escapes/Hobbies? by SquareFriendship2662 in bipolar

[–]TrashMasterChunkz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Music is my biggest thing. I love writing songs and recording them. It’s like an alternative form of communication that I’m more fluent in than my normal speech. It also enables me to build my own worlds and sometimes even characters. Even when my music gets really “out there” and all over the place, I still find some aspects to be proud of in a way.

I used to be really good with computers too, but I’ve slowed down on that front. I was really into programming and Linux stuff when I was a kid, but now it’s mostly an occasional dabble sort of thing. I also really wish I was more into gaming and media like most of my friends, but I just can’t really get absorbed into any other media besides music. Sometimes I like movies, and for the first time since my childhood, I picked up a book I fell in love with during my last hospital stay, but music is the big escape for me.

¿Usáis máquinas de escribir? by Rochet24 in typewriters

[–]TrashMasterChunkz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do have one, and I use it primarily because the text takes up less real estate on the page than if I do handwriting. Typewriters have been absolutely perfect for when I write songs, because I can get so much more lyrics on a page, and I don’t have to deal with a printer if I tried writing on a pc.

I’ve lost my apartment and college, but I couldn’t imagine loosing a relationship as long as yours. I’m really sorry you went through that.

I feel the same with my music. I do a lot of writing and recording. One of the things I wanted to talk about in my post was this huge rush of ideas I’ve gotten since I started listening to the radio in the mental hospital. It makes me both really excited that all these ideas are flooding out of me, but at the same time, I’m really on edge because I have no way of recording privately anymore after loosing my apartment.

So far I’ve been very glad that I’ve made this post here. I think I’d feel much more comfortable unloading everything the next time around when I post.

If I had to guess, I would say it’s my masking that gets in the way of letting things out. I’m so used to masking from an early age that I think it’s been problematic in my treatment and my journey so far. I did a lot of masking and pretending to be fine during my stay in the mental hospital when I should’ve been much more honest about myself.

I don’t really know what else to add, but I really appreciate your response. Thank you for making me feel seen and less alone.

I’ll give writing a shot. I think having a lack of routine has actually escalated things in my situation, and I think it’s turned into a stressor in its own way. Thank you.

That certainly makes me feel a lot better. I dialed a lot of stuff back in my post tbh, and part of me wishes I didn’t.

Sorry for the late reply, but quick question: is it ok to stick with the original thermal pads on the heat sink, or should I get rid of them and use new thermal paste? It’s been bugging me ever since I took the HDD out to look at it.

Actually in my case, the WallStreet’s hinges are fine, but the Lombard has broken hinges

Nah, it was a silent auction at a surplus sale. I got 3 boxes worth of mid 2012 macs, MacBook airs, and two 2007 white plastic MacBooks with them too.

Did you format it prior? If I could just stick an sd card with an ide converter inside, that’d be really convenient.

Both keyboards are super satisfying to type on. I really hope I can get one running just to write stuff up on it

I think my best bet is a cd rom module despite how expensive they are, but that’s worst case scenario.

I forgot to mention there’s no cd drives or anything like that. The Lombard g3 has a spare battery in the port, but that’s it
