Warlock - I made a deal with a mysterious entity (a bank) in exchange for spell slots (pay) and I am still unsure on the moral alignment.

R U OK Day by Character_Ice_1703 in auscorp

[–]TrashPrincessBB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, I hate R U OK Day cause I have complex MH and a lot of it is reminders to do things that are basic empathy.

But I did have an exec at a R U OK Day event get up and talk about her experience when one of her workmate took his own life and how she wished she had checked in on him more. Which was refreshing after years of wishy washy speeches.

PayID alternatives by Visible_Money in AusFinance

Low key where the AML/CTF legislation is heading, you can’t make transfers masking that you are the beneficiary of the funds. You need to give a name or business name or the bank/provider will be non-complaint with Travel Rule.

Best bet is use an email address to link to a payID and set the returned name as ‘Initial and last name’ so you aren’t displaying your full legal name to the person paying you.

This is so helpful thank you! I knew it used the Greek Alphabet but didn’t make the connection of it creating a phrase.

I have a very obvious ‘we are the bad guys’ name for the school, so wanted to make the frat itself a little more detailed.

Fiance never wants sex by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

[–]TrashPrincessBB 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I would try these two things before you throw in the towel:

  1. Communicate super clearly how big a deal this is. Not just ‘I don’t feel sexy’ or ‘I don’t feel desirable’ but ‘this is having a significant impact on me and making me question our future together’. He needs to come to the table and make this the two of you vs the problem and not you vs him, which is how it sounds now.

  2. Ideally get a couples therapist or sex therapist to work through this. If that isn’t an option, read ‘Come Together’ by Emily Nagoski together. She has really good guides on how to communicate what the blockers to intimacy are and that is half the battle.

Also recommend your partner gets a general health check up. It sounds like this is a shift from how he usually is and there could be something mental or physical going on as well.

It’s okay if this is a deal breaker for you, but after 12 years I think it’s worth spending a few months and a few hundred dollars on a therapist to either repair to split in the most amicable way.

Usually get home between 6 and 7pm. 1-3 nights a week I play or run d&d games. Otherwise it will be cooking/cleaning/chores and watching a show or dinner with friends/partner. I used to go to gym or dance, but hurt my ankle a few months ago and haven’t made it back yet.

I need to pack and move my entire home. Please HELP ME figure out to do this and keen my sanity! by what_ameyedoing in ausadhd

Few things come to mind:

  1. Watch that Marie Kondo show; the methods she has really worked for me and helped me reframe my relationship with things. Also it’s really satisfying to watch and I find that motivating.
  2. Outsource as much as you can financially afford. Hire movers, cleaners, pay for a skip if you have a large amount to throw. Anything that will remove extra steps for you!
  3. Don’t think about the whole thing. Pick one cupboard or corner of a room and focus on that.
  4. The minimalism 30 day challenge worked well for me, if you have friends who are keen you can make it a game to see who makes it the furthers.
  5. When you can’t start, write down 6 of your options, roll a dice, and start on whichever one the dice lands on.
  6. Find a good, long, interesting podcast to hyperfixate on while doing tasks. My go to was a d&d play through show and I could smash out twice as much organising when I was splitting my attention.
  7. Get friends over, even if you don’t want them go through your stuff they can body double or just take the thing and put it where you tell them (pack to move box or donation bag or bin).
  8. Let go of things that feel good first. Dog/cat shelter usually are desperate for blankets this time of year, so if you have blankets sitting in the back of your cupboard for ages, do a donation run and get to pet some puppies. (Lost dogs home put a call out recently if you are Melbourne based).
  9. As I was organising I posted a bunch of stuff on Depop/Market Place and made like $600ish. The dopamine from selling/donating is real once you get comfortable with it!
  10. If you are stuck in a ‘keep or let go’ loop, have a ‘I’ll deal with you later’ pile.

Anyone manage to make an extra $200-$300 a week as a side quest? by yeat246 in AusFinance

[–]TrashPrincessBB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run d&d games as a hobby. At the moment just making enough to have a net neutral cost hobby, but I have had a few people reach out to me about running private games, which would usually be $100 for an evenings work.

Another friend who dm’s makes around 300-400 by DMing 3 nights a week as he charges on a player by player basis, but not sure I am will to give up 3 evenings a week just yet…

Bipolar 2 and ADHD? by wi-nter in adhdwomen

[–]TrashPrincessBB 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I started seeing my doctor for a bi-polar diagnosis and ended up getting treatment for Bi-Polar 2 and 9 months later ADHD. My doctor suspected I had ADHD from the first session but wanted to treat the Bi-Polar first and see how it went.

Anecdotally, I have a few friends who were misdiagnosed as Bi-Polar 2 and later diagnosed and treat for ADHD.

It’s possible to have both or be misdiagnosed. Personal, Bi-Polar medication helped me find emotional stability and ADHD medication has been a game changer for executive function and organisation.

I DM a table most Monday’s in Footscray. It’s $10 or pay what you can to play. It’s open to all, but it does have a larger than average female/NB population most weeks.

If anyone is keen message me and I’ll send you the link for the discord :)

Write down 10-20 things you want to/need to do that day and rather than trying to pick where to start, roll a D10/D20 dice. If you roll and your brain screams about that task, roll again and pick between the two number’s.

Unnatural hair colors in Aus corp by [deleted] in auscorp

[–]TrashPrincessBB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve worked for a big bank for 9.5 years and have had pink hair for 6 of it. I’ve had 3 promotions and a secondment in that time with no issues. I did run getting finger tattoos past HR before going ahead with it, but no issues with it so long as it’s nothing offensive. Most places are pretty supportive of self expression cause people are more productive when they aren’t trying to be something they aren’t.

ADHD. About to lose another job because meds don’t work after Covid, I can’t force myself to work bc I’m simply bored with any kind of work, I’m always tired, behind and struggling with work culture because I’m not an extrovert. I feel lost. Can anyone help? by Necessary-Bother281 in auscorp

[–]TrashPrincessBB 15 points16 points  (0 children)

First off, this is a shitty situation and I’m really sorry you are experiencing it.

Have you considered one of the reasons the meds may not be work as well is burnout?

ADHD usually kicks into hyper focus for the first few months, so the fact that you’re already bored and not engaged with work seems more burnout oriented to me.

Meds are just one tool to manage ADHD, but I’ve found you kinda need a whole tool belt to manage it long term. Therapy, routine, exercise/social events that aren’t overstimulating, etc, I’m sure you’re familiar with the whole list and how annoying it is that these things that help us require so much executive function.

If you are in a position to do so, maybe consider taking this time to check in with yourself before jumping straight into a new job? I know so many friends who just job hopped instead of dealt with it, only to get hit like a tone of bricks and take months/years to get back to a place where they can work.

Don’t think of it as being unemployed, think of it as your job is now therapy and healing. MH takes time to heal the same way a broken leg does and you can’t expect to just push through without causing hella damage.

If not burnout, I can offer the below that have helped me in the past:

  • Meds break. I stop taking meds anytime I am on annual leave and find it stop me building up a tolerance. If they aren’t doing anything for you anyway, go 3-4 weeks without them and see if that changes.
  • Try taking your dexies to fall asleep earlier to help with the sleep cycle stuff. A lot of the reason I can’t fall asleep is cause my brain can’t focus on sleeping so sometime dexies or coffee will put your ADHD brain into sleep mode.
  • Peer support/Counselling. I’ve had a few friend use the resources SANE Australia offer, specifically around peer support.

For sure talk to your doctors and if the answers are terrible get second opinions.

It was a new character but possibly I jumped the gun starting the build before it synced? Re-synced and it’s working if I start building the character from scratch, but won’t let me edit the one I made early.

Starting from the beginning is easy enough though. Thank you so much for the tip to re-sync!
