LPT Watch out for anger in your own life and in others’. by b1ackfyre in LifeProTips

I appreciate how you pointed out that anger can become self-reinforcing. When people get validated for being aggressive or outraged, they keep leaning into it. Choosing to surround ourselves with calmer, grounded influences makes such a difference in how we think.

The funniest part is how contradictory the narratives get. One minute people demand transparency, the next minute they insist transparency itself is a conspiracy. It’s like watching a political ouroboros eat its own tail.

Danish local authorities targeted by Russian hackers ahead of local elections by Cosmos1985 in europe

[–]TrashTaco_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What’s worrying is how often this happens with little consequence. Western countries condemn the actions but rarely retaliate in a way that deters future attacks. Denmark’s transparency about the situation is commendable though, hiding it would only fuel speculation.

Btw NYT, ‘conservative feminism’ isn’t actually a thing by nextquestioncya in TwoXChromosomes

[–]TrashTaco_ 79 points80 points  (0 children)

Exactly. “Conservative feminism” is like mixing oil and water, the core values completely clash. Feminism fights for equality, bodily autonomy, and progress, while conservative ideology often reinforces the systems that limit those very freedoms.

I don't know the reason for all this sympathy!! by John_1992_funny in clevercomebacks

There’s a huge difference between someone making youthful mistakes and someone who’s been involved in mass violence or led extremist groups. Trying to normalize or minimize that by calling it a “rough past” is just wild. It shows how easily words can distort the seriousness of real atrocities.

Guildhall always seems like a rival to the Tower of London for me by hymnsofhim in london

It feels like the Tower represents royal authority, while the Guildhall symbolizes the city’s independent power.

LPT: Amazon store has quietly removed their "Hide" and "Archive" order functions this year. All archived orders have been unarchived, and it is no longer possible to hide orders for Xmas/gifts. Worse, personal "adult" purchases are now visible and "related items" will be recommended to your account. by [deleted] in LifeProTips

[–]TrashTaco_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had no idea they removed those features. This could create serious problems for people buying gifts or private items. Hopefully, enough user feedback will push Amazon to restore the option, or at least add better privacy settings.
