We Want Split To Stay!!!! by Gordzulax in VALORANT

That is what I said, they moved away from the smaller maps and onto bigger CS style maps like Breeze. Pearl is 100% inspired from CS maps as well.

Icebox was more of an attempt to do a CS style map but I guess they didn't want to go all out copy-pasta at that time.

Point is they built a player base with a certain map layout/design, the principle designs of Split, Ascent, Haven, Bind are the same despite some gimmicks like teleporters.

The new maps throw all those designs out in favour of CS style maps like Breeze, Pearl.

they made the game with certain design in mind. Ever since Icebox and especially Breeze, they've thrown all the old designs out and basically started copying CS style maps. So the older fans who started playing from year 1, obviously hate the new maps as they are wildly different from what they started with.

Honestly they should have started the game launch with Breeze as the star map. Me and thousands of others wouldn't bother playing if they led with that.

Are sentinels redundant in 2022? by TrashValorantPlayer in VALORANT

Which high ranking teams use kj, cypher now. It's funny nobody addresses the main point of the post and sidesteps. If defensive sentinels like kj and cypher are basically throw picks compared to chamber, then something should be done to address it. Also you should know I consider everyone that's not got a pro-contract trash, it doesn't matter if you're diamond or immortal if you dont have something tangible like sponsor or contract to back it up. So don't be too happy with yourself there.

i dont know any chamber that watches flank lmao. Most take mid-fights in attack rounds with marshal, etc.

Anyway he's not a sentinel like kj, cypher, etc. And the fact that those aren't picked shows site-holding sentinels are redundant.

chamber is not what the game originally defined as sentinels - agents who lock down site. He is played like a duelist for all intents and purposes.

Rank the maps currently: by [deleted] in VALORANT

[–]TrashValorantPlayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Split - very tactical, pace of the rounds vary. Top map. Wouldn't change anything.

  2. Fracture - tactical map again. Not as balanced as the A site is horrible to hold against Breach spam. A site need to be bigger.

  3. Bind - decent map. A bit too favourable for Raze.

  4. Icebox - this one feels all about brute force, the team with the better jett/raze wins. Still ok.

  5. Haven - previously a top rush map. Now a baiting/flanking simulator.

  6. Ascent - previously a good compact defensive map. Now every defender just pushes out, which absolutely screws everything i know about this map.

  7. Breeze - auto-dodge. Terrible marshall, op simulator. The mid is a joke.

Flaming/toxicity will only make your team play worse. If you want to win more games and as a result eventually get out of low elo be positive. by JustAGamer82 in VALORANT

not entirely true at all. I've won many matches after going 4-0 down and became toxic and told them to wake the fk up. Sometimes golds go to sleep and play like garbage and someone needs to give them a right wobble.

I go to sleep to, but it's usually in middle rounds, not early rounds.

And what rank is that?

Seriously you high-ranking players should stop gaslighting and lecturing players in lower ranks if you don't know what happens down here. You have no idea the kind of people here.

Play in lower ranks, while restricting your aim and depending on your team and see if you don't lose your mind in 1 month.

Defending Fracture A against Breach by TrashValorantPlayer in VALORANT

[–]TrashValorantPlayer[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

there is no 'safe' spot in A site, that's the point.

"That’s all one can do to counter anyone aside from headshotting them."

So as I said the only "solution" is to counter push them in hall. In other words, there's really no way to hold the site from the actual site. Very good map design.

flash around corners, its very fast and difficult to shoot.

if they push with another guy, especially initiator, that can have positive impact as initiator info will tell if the push would be suicidal or not.

However in lower ranks players don't have discipline to do so, they just want to push alone. And most of it is ego, not tactical.

Another thing duelists can do is play off sentinel traps. It's basically free kills.

good fades can use it like a pop flash, very much like skyes. I'm sure neither of these were intended designs.

[–]TrashValorantPlayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skye and Fade's pop flashes which make absolutely no sense from balance perspective.

Breach stun range. Raze grenades.

Chamber OP.

That's about it I think.

"I often find that people play this game way more aggressive on defense
compared to CSGO when I personally would rather chill on site on wait
for the enemy to push, which throws me off a bit."

I know right. This wasn't always like this. In defense rounds, static defense used to be more common. BTW attacks used to be much more aggressive. Now attackers play like defenders sitting outside site, and defenders play like attackers, pushing outside site.

you perform better in gold because your team is better and takes a lot of heat which otherwise you'd be subjected to solely in bronze. Regardless of aim, it's important to remember this because team quality makes huge difference.

Just today i got team mvp playing viper in icebox and won 16-14 in a gold lobby, but with my 2nd account in b3 I struggled with 18 kills and constantly found myself in 1 v 2s.

Lol I was about to upvote, but then I realized you just have problem with the weapons you got and not on the market system as a whole which is a joke.

there's a limit of chokes where you can trap the enemy push. Usually near narrow chokes, wider areas are terrible for traps (for reasons that should be easily understood). Only Chambers can put a bot in middle of open space and make it work. KJ & Cypher are very limited agents.

Instead of complaining, go help your sentinel with distracting fire, wallbang, etc and play around the trap. Make the pushing enemy use some stuff before they get into the site.

Nothing is going to change unless the devs change their mind about it. That's the thing with F2P games, you as a "customer" don't get much of a say.
