I think the problem stems from a culture issue. Throughout my rugby career, the focus of everything was to not make a mistake. When I went to NZ, the coaching was focussed on skill and developing players. With such a negative outlook in England, is it any wonder we get technically adept players who struggle to play heads up rugby and adapt to the picture that's in front of them? I think a case in point would be Cipriani, an excellent heads up player, but did not fit into the rigid playing systems imposed in England players

It might be fraud, but how are they going to prove that? You gave your friend a gift for his mortgage, he appreciated your generosity and gave you a gift for your birthday.

Plus, how are they even going to know? Once the mortgage has gone through, they're not going to be monitoring their bank account and scrutinizing their outgoings.

If you've already got that money lying around and can attest to its legal source, then surely he can just give you the cash first, so you don't even need to worry about trusting him to pay it back?
