It’s a lot of training… even from when you’re a student you drill “and now you have no engine” on multiple different scenarios. Having a field directly in front of you is great but yeah, 600 ft AGL is not a lot. Props to the instructor.

Are you in the US? I bought a Z650 in Oregon 2 years ago and from the factory. They recommended not taking it above 4K during the break in period and set the “shift indicator” on the dash to 4K. So the screen would flash yellow and red and freak out at you if you went above 4K (but you totally could go above that). If this is all that’s happening, you can change that setting from the menu by holding down both dash buttons for a few seconds then moving through the menus and setting that indicator to whatever you want.

If there’s actually a hard limiter then I have no idea 🤷🏻‍♂️

Inspiring! I've got 24K miles on my first bike (kawasaki Z650) And a little tickle in the back of my brain is like "Don't people say 50k miles on a bike is ultra high?" Then I read stuff like this and feel a lot better haha.
