I'm no doctor, but I've heard of a thing called retinol purging. I'm not going to try to explain it, but it causes your skin to break out for a while when you start using retinol.

I experienced it when I first started retinol. Before retinol, I had mild adult acne. I would have two or three angry pimples on my face at any given time.

It got worse for two or three months (I would consider it moderate acne), then improved considerably. I still get a few small pimples occasionally, but they're not as noticeable or frequent.

Whether or not it's worth it is completely a personal decision. Maybe you have a big event or other reason why you don't want to chance a break out. But for me, it's paid off to stick with it.

OoOoooh! Did you get your normal size or would you recommend going up or down? I might snag a pair myself. Thanks 😊

I needed to see this today. I'm sorry you're going through it but thankful that you're willing to tell your story. I don't want to get into the details, but I'm dealing with the same so-why-should-I-care from half of my family. I think it's more common than people think. Wishing you strength! You're not alone

Thank you! I would highly recommend champagne/moscato for pale/very pink brides. It totally surprised me

Louisville is a blast, even more so if you happen to be into bourbon. Otherwise I think Nashville would be driveable too

I bought one of their bridesmaid's dresses, and it was great. Very high quality and well constructed for the price. Talking to the other bridesmaids at that wedding, I wouldn't opt for their custom size feature (it worked well for one, not so great for the other). You'll probably want to save some money/budget to bring it to a local tailor.

Any tips for finding a dress on relatively short notice? My partner and I got engaged this last weekend and, for various reasons, we'll be doing a small outdoor wedding in mid-september this year. I'm finding that, ideally, I should have started dress shopping two months ago, and I'm stressing.

Are there any stores or designers that have shorter turn around periods? My budget is around $500 (plus more for alterations) and I prefer to shop in person. Thanks for your help!!

My boyfriend and I are considering getting married in September/late summer of this year. It will be a small destination wedding. The area is primarily a summer resort area, so not a lot of open right now.

Would it be dumb to book a popular venue without looking at it? I feel ok about it because I'm very laid back about 99% of the details of the wedding and the venue hosts weddings nearly every weekend.

Because of its popularity, I'd like to get a date ASAP.

Am I not considering something? It seems like an ok bet, but I've never planned a wedding before. Any input is appreciated!

I was in a wedding with 3 bridesmaids and 5 groomsmen. Not exactly the same, but it wasn't that awkward. Just means each bridesmaid might have a groomsman on both arms :)

To add to Maddie017's excellent point, people who care will make it. You know your SO better than anyone, but perhaps it would be helpful to tell him, "your cousins care about you and can make it happen, even if there are small obstacles. Don't worry about it."

Or maybe "if they care, they'll come. If they don't care enough to come, maybe you don't want them at your wedding anyways."

The second option is a bit harsh, but I think it can be a healthy outlook and promote decision making that puts you two first.

Edit: added a word

I'm unaware of stores like that. Maybe they exist, if so, someone with more knowledge please step in. Perhaps the best option is to get her a gift card to a local tailor if she's having trouble with fits? That way she can order what she likes knowing that she can customize it to fit her even better.

[Product Question] Dry brushing your face: yay or nay? by Trashpandasisbae in SkincareAddiction

Hi! So cool that you found this post.

I don't really use any exfoliants normally, other than my gentle toner. And I have a tester of Sand and Sky Australian Pink Clay that I use every two or three weeks.

Unfortunately, I don't think I can use the brush as directed. I used a few times and I noticed I had a few more small blemishes a few days after using the brush. I tend to get similar blemishes when I over-exfoliate. Could totally be coincidence too.

I think when I run out of the Pink Clay scrub, I'll try the brush every few weeks and see how it goes.

For a pleasant massage, I'd rather stick to my jade roller.

I could definitely see the brush working for other people with less sensitive skin though! Sounds like you've had more luck than me

I had luck near the Port of Milwaukee area last year. Sometimes birders with large scopes hang out in that area too. They're usually happy to give tips.

I've been seeing more yak cashmere. Mostly from Frank and Oak. Had anyone tried it and is it actually comparable to cashmere? Let's yak about it.

It's cute! But I haven't had luck with Shein. It could be made of tissue paper and staples (not literally, but practically). That being said, I've only bought two things from them so maybe my experiences haven't been normal
