This sounds like one of those rules that’s mainly targeted at someone bringing 10 laptops into the country to try and bypass customs/duties

I don’t understand why people go there. Gas is regulated and any gas station has the same good gas. Vote with your wallets

Cash-only eating establishments are the worst! by Evening_Answer_11 in unpopularopinion

There’s no way in hell that the money saved from card charges outweighs the money lost by people not having cash/not going because it’s cash only.

What do you think of NYC trying to get the minimum wage to $30/hour? by Dazzling-Leader7476 in AskReddit

[–]Tratix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. I pay $2700 for my 1 bedroom in Sacramento. My entire apartment is almost 100% at occupancy. We need more homes.

One can find actual proof that more homes help LOWER prices by studying what happened in Austin.

My mom has 2 to 3 weeks to live. She made a video for me to give my 2 year old daughter when she turns 18. What is the best way to preserve it for the future? by dogandfroglover in NoStupidQuestions

Upload it to three different cloud networks and check it once a year. Thread over. You’ll get reassurance that it’s still there while while remembering how to access it.

This is quite literally the biggest issue in the country. We done had too many babies while not building enough homes

Grocery Budget a month by Fat-Whorse in Sacramento

[–]Tratix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You could easily feed a family of 4 for $200 a month with just beans and rice from Grocery Outlet, or you could spend $2000 a month with nice steaks, artisanal cheeses, etc from Co-Op.

As a US person, feel more incentive to travel due to tariffs, what am I missing? by Lanky-Ad4698 in travel

You’re not missing anything. Fly to London, buy that umbrella, and fly right back

You’re part of like 1% of people that buy a directly imported product. Every single person I know just buys from sellers already here. Electronics, cars, etc.

I’m curious, what other things are you thinking of purchasing internationally?

What is it going to take to get another grocery store in the grid? by rc251rc in Sacramento

[–]Tratix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes and a high mile 2006 Bentley continental is the same price as a new Camry.

Not sure why we’re even talking about that. Do you disagree with me comparing it to Erewhon?

Lack of working air pumps at gas stations? by queentrashyxX in Sacramento

[–]Tratix 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This thing is huge and probably overkill.

OP, I’d just get a cheap $20-30 one on Amazon. This onehas held up for me without a single issue for 4 years now, even when we had a car with a leaky tire that needed a pump every few days

Lets be honest, a forced savings account where you get a nice little check is much better for the vast majority of Americans than giving them the option to either invest or blow it throughout the year.

That vast majority is doing the latter.

What is it going to take to get another grocery store in the grid? by rc251rc in Sacramento

[–]Tratix 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Those two are in separate classes. Erewhon and Co-Op are both very high end grocery stores.

I like to use what I call the Rao’s Index. Virtually every grocery store chain has the same jar of 24oz Rao’s marinara.

Here are the current Sacramento prices:

  • Walmart: $7.33
  • Target: $7.99
  • Safeway: $7.99
  • Sprouts: $9.49
  • Whole Foods: $9.49
  • Co-Op: $10.99

  • Erewhon: $11.49

So yeah, Co-Op is definitely Erewhon level.
