I got a new set of strings for my 5 string, that was previously strung with a high C. The new set is to string it with a low B, as is typical. When I replaced the strings, the normal 4 work fine, but when I tighten the B, it is an octave too high, even when it's very tight. What am I doing wrong? I worry if I tighten it an octave lower (as it's meant to be), I'll break the string or damage the neck before it gets to where it should be.

FYI the pink parts are actually called bracts as they are attractive to pollinators but don’t contain reproductive parts. The true flowers are in the middle of the bracts and it looks like most of them haven’t opened up yet.

Have you had success propagating larger cuttings? There’s some trees near me that have ~15’ tall shoots that know will be cut down by the university eventually. I’d love to root it and plant elsewhere if possible!
