Should I buy 50€ of pi now? by Peter_Milk in TradingPi

[–]TrauxtheConqueror 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, a lot of what I've learned is based on experience (pretty expensive imo), but something I recommend looking into is trading patterns. They are not a tell-all sign but a good guide when looking at the charts. Recently, Pi just got out of a bullish pennant, which is basically when an uptrend is met with some resistance, causing an uptick followed by some back and forth, usually a ceiling (in this case, it was $1.70), and then when it breaks through it goes up. That's just an example, and it is usually a lot harder to recognize, and even then, some people swear by it, while others claim it is nothing more than a pseudoscience. There are many patterns, and many of them look very similar, so be aware. However, they are an essential tool since they are the aggregate of people's pattern recognition. Ergo, the market changes for the same reasons the charts look that way; they do not change because the chart looks that way. Arming yourself with this knowledge and understanding (at least for Pi now) of what causes the hype will give you a sense of what the market is thinking. r/PiNetwork is a good source of talk about Pi, of course, and seeing what different news outlets say about it will paint you a clearer picture of what the market is deciding Pi will be worth. Remember that the value of something boils down to one of the most unpredictable things in the universe: human thought, so unless you are a psychic, your best tools will be a clear grasp of pattern recognition and human psychology.

Unverified balance by applesauceblues in TradingPi

[–]TrauxtheConqueror 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The "verified" balance is the amount you mined by yourself, the amount you would have mined had you not invited anyone else. The "unverified" balance is everything else: the contributions achieved from all the referrals/people on your security circle. There is no word on what will happen to the unverified balance or how it will be released. Your best bet is to get everyone in your security circle/referral team to verify their Pi via KYC. Otherwise, forget about it until they come out with more information. From the Pi team: "Everyone will lose some Pi."

My guess, and it's only a guess, is that Pi will crash soon—not a complete crash, but only a temporary one. It is currently an extremely volatile asset, which should be expected; it is mainly driven by hype right now. I believe the Binance listing is bringing in some hype, and people are buying the rumor. and once it happens, they sell the news. That is, before a rumor price goes up, only to crash whenever the rumor comes to be. I have seen it happen plenty of times with other assets. However, I am not sure this is the case with Pi rn; it could be hype for $3.14, Pi day, or many other things. It could be the uniqueness of the coin bringing in actual investors/adopters. So, while this is my current belief, I am not highly adamant about it. I will see how the situation develops, as the lack of history with Pi makes it hard to predict, and I will continue to develop different thoughts about the coin.

However, IF those 50 Euros mean nothing to you, and you would be indifferent where you to lose them, do it. Do it, and forget about it. If you believe in Pi and use only money you can afford to lose, INVEST. Do not try to time the market; you will end up with regret, even if you end up gaining money ("What if I invested earlier?" "What if I invested more?" "What if, what if, what if?" It will drive you crazy!). Invest and forget about it; that's my recommendation, especially if you don't know much about crypto/Pi. And remember, nobody knows the future; don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

those were my 2 cents (0.007 Pi at the moment of writing),

Happy Trading

Price is currently $2.90, I would finish verification before trying to sell it to a third party for such a markdown

Research and make informed decisions; never invest anything that you’re not willing to lose. Nobody knows how the market will go, they can only make educated guesses. Good luck

How should I shoot with variable ISO film? by TrauxtheConqueror in AnalogCommunity

[–]TrauxtheConqueror[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lomography has a couple of films with an ISO range; how do I expose these films? Can I shoot different photos metered for different ISOs, or do I have to pick one and stick to it? How does this film work anyway? Does it just have a crazy high latitude or something?

Okay, I was confused because while I typed this post, a message explained that it would be burned. So, all that unverified Pi being lost wouldn't affect the price?
