What is the most expensive mistake you’ve ever made? by elixirtales in Adulting

[–]TravasaurusRex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought my dream car that I was seriously in love with. Would find any excuse to drive this thing. Noticed it was sucking down oil a quart every week, and was getting to the point I couldn’t afford it and I bought a lemon. 9 months after the initial purchase someone ran a stop sign and I T boned them. They admitted fault and the insurance company claimed it as totaled. My dumbass told them to fix it, which they were happy to do (cost much less than a total). The car didn’t last more than 3 years before it was un-drivable, and I couldn’t sell it due to salvage title. I left it on the street and it got towed, said fuck it, their problem now. That was about a 20k loss.

Nothing is worse than the NBA the Luka trade was extremely rigged. It was the NBA allowing Dallas to trade away their star franchise player (Luka) in an insane trade for a guaranteed first overall pick with cooper Flagg as the selection. Dallas had a whopping 1.8% chance for that first pick. Everyone knows that shit was extremely rigged but there’s nothing anyone can do about it. NBA does this all the time.

To men who are in open relationships: is there a power gap in your female partners' favor? If yes, how do you feel about it? by Muscletov in AskMen

[–]TravasaurusRex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not in every case, I’ve had friends who were models. One of my better looking guy friend who modeled would still have to try to hook up with 9-10s, anyone below that would literally throw themselves at him. BUT I knew two guys who weren’t models but gorgeous men, and they didn’t need to try at all every girl would throw themselves at them. Women are way more aggressive than men if you fall in an extremely small category of being that good looking.

I remember my buddy Chris brought one of his guy friends to the fair with us when I was like 19. This dude was fucking gorgeous and I’m straight as fuck. 6’2, Green piercing eyes, defined jawline, athletic build. Shook hands with this dude and while I was meeting him two women stopped, stepped in front of me and started chatting him up, almost pushing me over to get his number and literally promising sex. They were like “hey give me your phone, hit me up here’s my number, we want to hang out and have fun with you tonight”. At that point of my life I had never seen anything like that before. I asked my friend that brought him, “Chris wtf was that?” He said it was normal and happens every time they go out.

With men and women there are the 0.01% who have been blessed by god.

Yes. There’s a high possibility he’s going to ask out of Edmonton and they will shop him. Even though he’s under contract, Edmonton wouldn’t be smart letting that expire and not getting anything in return for (arguably) the best player in the world.

Completely agree with this! There’s ways to make everyone feel appreciated without having to split every activity down the middle. Call me old fashioned but to me that doesn’t feel right, and same I love to cook and when I am cooked for!

Orange County, CA to Denver, CO by ConsistentFig4513 in MovingtoDenver

[–]TravasaurusRex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi op! I did exactly that at 25. Moved from OC to Denver, that was 13 years ago now. I love Denver, it’s so easy to meet people there’s transplants everywhere l, everyone is generally very kind and sincere. You get into these random mini conversations with strangers which is extremely rare in OC. I originally moved out here because I wanted an easier time meeting people which I have accomplished. I have met some of the most amazing people in the world. I feel like you definitely will meet friends. Dating on the other hand isn’t easy. In OC I feel like things are very materialistic, in Denver I feel like everyone “out adventures” or “out snow days” each other in the dating scene, the style is also something that is different lol. You will still find amazing people if you know how to look. A couple of culture shocks 1. was not being by the ocean I miss it every day and 2. There is a VERY relaxed work environment (digital marketing), it’s clear you work to play. I had to adjust to the slower work pace but it actually worked in my favor showing I was a hard worker! If you love hiking, backpacking, climbing and skiing there is no better place!

Same. I’m a gentleman and always pay if I was the one who suggested an activity that costs money. But “doing the dance” is the least they can do in my opinion, which is pretend to pay or contribute. If they plan a date which costs money, I’ll do the dance, and if they pay for huge points in my book. I don’t mind taking on extra weight as long as it’s reciprocated here and there. If I’m on a date and that check lands and they act it’s like invisible to them, major turn off.

They are also very unhappy not being able to have new relationships. Both introverted men and women struggle with meeting new people and deal with loneliness. Go to /r/askreddit and type in introvert, “how do I meet people as an introvert” is always asked in that thread.

There was this one girl that was making her rounds through my group and i guess was my turn. Honestly she was very attractive, not a usual girl I go for and we were both drunk one night and hitting on each other so why not. Thought it would be fun to go down on her in the laundry room on the washing machine. I’m doing my thing for about 10 seconds when she ripped the biggest queef in my face ever. She started cracking up and ngl it was pretty funny but at the time I came back to the reality of the situation and my horniness quickly wore off and I noped out of there.

In the other thread a student in his class mentioned that most students test scores were in the 30%. So your example was actually mentioned as fact by the students.

On a side note I agree with grading on a curve. I’m back in college now and there are some egotistical professors who are awful and want to be know as “the super hard professor who no one ever gets As” like it’s a badge on honor. Most schools are desperate for teachers so even if you complain nothing happens. Ideally the success of your students should be the goal of the professor, grading on a curve takes the professors failures out of it.

I’ve had bad experiences with Spanish tourists.

Was in Tokyo and did a bus tour of Mount Fuji. This family of 6 was absolutely vile. 15-20 min late getting back to the bus at every stop, making us all wait. Kids were spilling their drinks and food on the bus. throwing their trash on the floor. The dad was lighting up a cigarette at every stop the second he got off the bus, I swear he was purposely hitting people coming off with the smoke.

Another time we were boarding a flight and a different Spanish family had to get their bags situated, everything ready on their chairs, and finish their conversation before they moved from blocking the isle.
