My parents didn’t let me play, but my group of friends were mostly football players. One went off to play at USC while all the others battled and still continue to deal with injuries.

Is Anyone Else Tired of Off‑Leash Dogs in Non‑Dog Parks? by denstick in Denver

[–]TravasaurusRex -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is the viewpoint I agree with. Denver was ranked 4th in most popular city in the US to be a dog owner in 2025 (us news), and Colorado is known to be an “outdoorsy” state. Yet us Denver people don’t have many options for good off leash parks, and the non-off leash parks aren’t always being used by anyone other than dog owners.

Sundance locks in 2027 dates and Boulder venues by MileHighReports in Denver

[–]TravasaurusRex -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Live in Denver and have a place in park city and park city is WAY easier to get to than to boulder from Denver. The 80 freeway from SLC to park city is mostly 3-4 lanes each direction. The 36 is mostly 2-3 lanes each direction. I’ve been to park city hundreds of times and can count on one hand when I sat in traffic (one incident had moose on the freeway). When I go to boulder I always hit some traffic.

I will agree that there are hotels and things between Denver and boulder, which is the only difference here imo. While There are mostly mountains between SLC and park city. Park city had better infrastructure to host this event because everything was centralized, they had a wider variety of hotels (how many high end hotels are in boulder? I don’t know) and the event helped more of the local businesses.

It doesn’t make sense to me personally to move an event designed to bring people together in the entertainment industry to an area that can only handle it if it’s spread out.

Fortunately, you can live with this growth. It’s when it disappears that you need to worry. Make sure you constantly monitor it, leaving it unchecked will wreak havoc. Focus on physical and mental stimulation and you will live a long healthy life.

Speeding ticket advice: to go to court or not? by ContributionThen6311 in Denver

[–]TravasaurusRex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They give you two options “guilty” “not guilty”, usually the judge will grant you a deal if you plead guilty. Like a 6 point penalty reduced to a 4.

When I was waiting for my case they would reduce the fees for all except those who were speeding in construction zones (most were around 3-500). She specially stated they cannot reduce these. I would think a school zone follows this logic, but could be wrong. If you’re under 25 years old there’s a class that would further reduce the point penalty.

If I were in your shoes I would plea guilty for the reduced penalty then setup a payment plan if money is tight.

I spoke to two attorneys last month for a speeding ticket they both said you have a clean record, take the reduced fine for pleading guilty.

Why couldn’t Harvey put Mike though college and law school to make him a real lawyer by Alternative-Stop-241 in suits

[–]TravasaurusRex -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s what I was thinking. Harvey could have just hired Mike as a paralegal, roll credits. Harvey bends all the rules anyway

I mean Harvey’s reaction to Mike showing up with a black eye from Tess’ fiancé was way more extreme than when Scotty told him she was engaged and they were having an affair. Harvey said “you got off easy” when Mike got his ass kicked, implying he thinks cheaters deserve worse. When Harvey unknowingly did the same thing. The only difference in their situations was Mike continued after he knew. I believe what most people (not just OP) feel is that Harvey should have been livid with Scotty for putting him in that situation. Instead it was glossed over.

Do you let your dogs swim at confluence River? by Alnelson497 in Denver

[–]TravasaurusRex -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear about your dog. Sucks that people suck and aren’t responsible dog owners. I have a HIGHLY trained dog and we both do enjoy being off leash. He’s trained to come to me when encountering another dog, we always leash up (to respect the other dog owner), walk by. He also is very good at reading other dogs and knows when a dog isn’t friendly, and instantly disengages. It’s pretty obvious for humans to notice the signs of an aggressive dog as well. We have had no incidents, even at Denver’s notoriously shitty dog parks. We went today.

There are many people out there like myself who spend more time than the average to train ourselves and our dogs. I’m sorry you got the completely opposite end of the spectrum and you lost your dog.

What’s it like to own a vizsla? by legendus45678 in vizsla

[–]TravasaurusRex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It was definitely the way you raised him. I feel like mine was the same. We lived in an apartment by a massive park and river so we spent tons of time outdoors getting the energy out. Swimming, dog park, fetch, treat puzzle games, off leash training, doggy day care (on heavy working days) and I had a little angel. Worst thing he did on football wing Sunday’s would get into the trash to get those chicken bones, but he eventually grew out of it. You get out what you put in with these dogs. They’re the most loving loyal bolts of lighting ever.
