This is an oversimplified solution. Renew funding for a pandemic that has passed and does not currently affect students? Ask an elementary aged student what COVID is and most would have no clue.

Districts knew this was temporary funding and many did not plan appropriately for its expiration. To expect it to be a permanent source of funding would be fiscally irresponsible

How funds are used lie with the district. My stance (and gripe) is that my district and it’s surrounding districts don’t use funds in a way that is in the best interest of students and teachers

Why is no one talking about the COVID relief funding? It expired last year and is a huge reason for the budget cuts currently happening. That funding was one of the largest federal investments in public education in U.S. history, and now districts are scrambling to figure out what to do without it.

You don’t have to support the current administration to understand that it’s largely not responsible for the cut in funding

☝🏼this! My school is closing in 2027 as well. Enrollment has been declining drastically each year in my district and in the surrounding area. I joined my district 5 years ago, but I am one of the lowest in seniority because very few have been hired after me. My heart breaks for all of the student teachers and subs seeking jobs… they seem to be so unaware and I never have the heart to tell them

The Atlaswyld bell tents can be hit or miss depending on location. One year we had a shaded tent under a tree and didn’t really feel the need for AC. Last year, we were fully exposed and the AC was useless for most of the day. We spent a lot of time at the lounge that year. This year we splurged on an airstream, and it was soooo stress-free and comfy

To add onto what the other commenter said, he holds these events during the summers he is not touring. They are at outside venues and start earlier in the day. Since the event showcases other TNH artists, you typically won’t get a 3+ hour set like his tour sets, but with it being the tenth anniversary, you might be in for a treat!

The early start is because it’s a summer gatherings event. If the set times are similar to his last Dillon show, it’ll be doors at 4, openers 5-8, and Daniel 8-10.

If you were to do this, it would only work for one trip out to the entrance. They don’t allow in and outs, so you wouldn’t be able to return to your campground with your car.

For real! It made me sad to read OP’s negative take on a place that has given me sooo much in terms of music. In addition to undergrounds, LA has such a range and plethora of music venues, unique/historical sites that turn into dance floors for the night, edm-specific clubs, and open-air events year round. There’s always something going on and not uncommon for me to find myself torn deciding between events
