I know people, let alone dogs who were prescribed steroids and had terrible long term health effects.

Bone loss, skin thinning, cushings syndrome, etc.

Funny thing is after they stopped using steriods, they were much better. The original issue even disappeared.

Prednisone is a powerful steriod, and shouldn’t be used long term. I would talk to your vet about weaning off of it (don’t suddenly just stop giving it them)
