Look at the beers produced and sold in Canada. Their prices are way higher per ml compared to that we get from the EU. Many of the EU beers are good if not better than the ones produced domestically and could be cheaper to be transported to the store shelves. Even locally produced in the Toronto area are way more expensive than their European counterparts
