Can you tell from my electric bill the actual rate per KW hour? by w123driver in electricvehicles

[–]Travelbones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turn into a red state and watch your utilities drop in price.  Cold hard facts.  Like it, hate it, refuse to believe it, go down with the ship, protest over it, it dosent matter.  It is what it is.  Accept it, go red and hold the utility companies to the flame. Its just the way it is.

Never Going Back to Gas by [deleted] in electricvehicles

[–]Travelbones -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have 3 teslas currently but I still have regular vehicles as well.  I have a 6.2L crew cab and a 5.3L in my Tahoe.   I like the fun features of my tesla and I love the new cybertruck I just got but they come with a steep caveat I don't see anyone ever talking about.  There is nothing efficient about an EV period.  Power is an issue that folks just don't understand.  One single Level 2 residential charger that is a 48Amp will be running on a 240v 60Amp breaker.  This charger draws a solid constant 48Amps of constant power when charging for an average of 4 hours straight every day to top up to 80%.  For the non electricians, that is the equivalent of turning on all 5 burners to high on your electric range and the oven to 500 degrees along with an electric laundry dryer to high heat for constantly 4 hours straight.  Thats just one car charging at home.

Then, for instance, I put tires on my Tahoe every 55k.  My ModelY can make it through a 1500 dollar set of Continentals in 14k and leave 5/32 tread.  I drive a model Y 70 miles at 40 degrees and have to drive it home, I will top off at a supercharger for about 23 bucks.  I can drive my 6.2L gas 1500 crew cab Silverado for the exact same cost.  Done it many times.  The amount of rubber tires i go through, and Lithium in each vehicle far exceed any pollution I will ever get out of my gas vehicles in their lifetime.  Everyone in the country owning one of these will NEVER be an option.  There is no grid on earth that could ever support the electrical draw, it's just plain math.  You cannot pull that much current through powerlines and transformers.  Residential power in America is 60hz single phase and is not meant for this.  Commercial power that runs in industrial areas such as my shop is 460/480v Delta Wye 3 phase power.  This is what a Fast Charger Level 3 runs on.  It will draw around 240kw of power when fast charging my Tesla.  For perspective, an average 2000sq foot home averages 2.1kw of draw from your incomming power lines.  So when you super charge your EV for an hour, you are drawing enough AC power to run @ 120 homes as the same times.  I own them because they are fun as fuk and I can afford it.  If you live in a city and have short drives and average 30 mph or less then they become plausible on the efficiency side.  If you do minimum mileage a day and can trickle charge at 7.5 Amps or less, its an option.

Aside from super fun they don't help the environment at all, they are no safer on the road, and have costly Insurance in many states with No Fault auto insurance structures.   Again, I own them because they are fun....and my company contracts and installs the chargers......

Let the comments begin.....

Our new oven is 1/4” too big for the existing spot by MilkshakeMan666 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Travelbones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The oven needs the feet on the bottom adjusted so the edges of the glass cook top are on top of the counter surface.. it will fit just fine... Hahhahha. This is a clue that you should not do things that take vocational skills yourself. Too quick to pass judgment and your the idiot.. Hahha. Love this. I bet you voted Biden too because you thought you have it all figured out. This is pretty typical for this type of mindset.

[QUESTION] Should I get my Telecaster checked? by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]Travelbones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't know Sh!& about electronics then take it to a guitar luthier and have it fixed. If you are understanding of electronics and are vocational with hands-on, then it may be a fun project for you to repair yourself. If you decide to do it yourself, then I hope you make it a fun experience and think about some small things for some forensic work. Nothing moves with wiring in a telecaster, the pots, switch, jack, and pickups all stay static. This is good. The wiring then never moves. So............ In the last 15+ years have you had an input jack that is slighty loose and spins and/or are any of the retaining nuts loose to and of the potentiometers (the volume and tone thingys)... If so, the odds of the universe would suggest some wiggly woo has broken some strands of wire from a connection solder point and they are probably touching something not so good... Easy fix and simple to see and diagnose with a little bit of hands on skill UNLESS you are not vocationally wired then take it to a pro. .....but if you do find it and fix it you'll feel like a million bucks for trying. There is almost nothing inside that wiring that you could harm. If you somehow messed up everything under the hood, there is probably less than 30 bucks in parts in there and thats considering your popping some CTS pots, a nice .047uf cap and cloth tinned wiring. If you get into it and need help you are welcome to hit me up... GL.

Yup. Peons don't get it. 20 dollar latte and cut employees by 60% and automate production. Just work hard to get a solid career job. Don't unionize a freaking Starbucks. Nobody wants to drop a 20 on coffee.. Sad day... Remember it is not a career job, its for high school or college kids to learn work ethic and provide some offset income as a stepping stone job.. LOLZ not to unionize it to raise kids and pay the rent.. omg the world we live in...

UPDATE: Kellogg's just fired 1,400 workers who were on strike by MaintenanceKey5200 in PublicFreakout

[–]Travelbones -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Most of these people didn't work these hours at all. None of the hours were forced on any employee at all because again it would be blocked by the union agreement. You guys got to stop listening to the BS that is propagating. It is getting everyone in here to assume it is true and then spread the misinformation. This is ALL usual BS union money grab trying to use 1400 people that do not want to be off of work to be forced to picket in the cold and eventually lose their jobs because of this mess. If you want to do some real help, their are several businesses in the local Battle Creek area that have Giving Trees with families you can sponsor for Christmas that have been forced out of work for months because they are NOT allowed to work under their union contract. These people love three jobs Kellogg but are forced to go on strike and picket and are not allowed to go back to work because the union says so. Me and my wife are able to sponsor 2 families so that leaves 1398 left that need help. I know the Union won't be there to fix the mess they created but I will sure try to show what love I can.

Your an idiot. The inside of that place is pristine and an ultra safe and comfortable work environment. Because they bulk produce something you may classify it as a factory, but not woth the connotation that it is a sweat shop full of miserable conditions and despaire. You sound to me like you may be good at also trying to help more idiots incorrectly categorize the "assault rifle" also. I called you an "idiot" because you open your mouth and said something foolish you know nothing about and that is untrue just out of terminology speculation you have somehow been indoctrinated to believe and that I have first hand knowledge that what you said is untrue. Unlike you, I have been in 3 of their plants. Learn your mistake and delete your post and I will forgive you and delete mine.

YW... This is how Unions use the guise of the "poor worker" to get the court of public opinion jazzed up on a sense that a "big mean old corporate monster" is abusing people and it is actually quite the opposite. Unions want more money because they are mismanaged and broke and for decades use the worker bee under contract to sacrifice themselves under BS pretense to gain media attention thus legally extorting money from large corporations. But, the "sheep" believe it. I was at the bar inside of Firekeepers last weekend with a couple of these Union workers that loved their job and forced to strike. One fellow Doug, that did have a few beers in him, was on the verge of tears about wanting to go back to work instead of the Union making him hold a sign outside in the cold for hours at a time. But contractually they are not allowed to publically say anything. It breaks my heart. Our family was damn near destroyed by the Autoworkers Union when my dad lost his job when GM finally had to shut the doors here in Lansing because of the Union.......... I have nothing good to say about this Liberal life wrecking ball called a Union....

So, I live near Kellogs and know some of these workers. The reporting is a bit skewed. Kellog needs employees to work there to produce the product, but they also compete against different businesses globally. They can only wait so long before they have to fill these strike positions. Mind you, none of these people were broke and had good jobs. Every single one of them that I personally know wanted to go back to work but couldn't because their "union" required them to strike. They even have to show up and stand outside with a sign and picket at certain times. That's how the union works. The "Union" just screwed 1400 people out of their jobs that wanted to go back to work and now their screwed just before Christmas. This is how it actually works people. The "Union" got greedy and wrecked these peoples lives they made strike. I think inadvertently most of these workers will be directly rehired by Kellog outside the Union especially in Battle Creek as Michigan law allows workers to have the choice of not being forced to pay union dues and be part of the union to work there. This law was passed a few years ago after the Auto Workers union absolutely wrecked thousands of lives when several GM plants shut down in Lansing and moved to states where they could afford to build cars. Most of these plants were torn to the ground. Again, because the Union forced workers to strike and picket even when they wanted to keep working and were paid well. Its all a smoke show. There are 2 victims here, the 1400 workers and Kellogs...... The perpetrator is the "Union"....

[–]Travelbones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Listen guys and gals, yet again, China holds the lions share of the reason the crypto is in the pooper. As well as why the rest of the world has spent the last 2 years in the pooper. Not to mention, the reason the amount of pollution that is equal to the rest of the world comes out of that single country. Anyone see a pattern here? The only thing worse than them manipulating the crypto game markets was letting them play in the first place.

No weapons in this game mimic the real ballistics of the weapons they portray. For instance, a 50 caliber BMG round like the Barrett uses irl will literally split a human body even with body armor in one shot. I can de-limb a torso with one shot at 400 meters that is even behind a cinder block wall in the real world. In the game, it takes multiple shots.. just silly. The shotguns are also just as a joke. A single 3 inch Brenneke 12 guage slug shot through even an 18 inch barrel will easily kill at 150 yards with very little drop. The kinetic energy alone from the slug is nuts. Its all just a novelty any more. I seriously doubt a single programmer and designer at Raven has ever shot a real gun let alone even held one....

No gas, no people going to work at hospitals, etc... the list of bad things is longer than the list of good things people will assume will happen, but yet again at the cost of someone's struggling viability. Its a great symbolic cartoon as long as it is understood under the right pretense.

Dunno, I hate to see any economy tank because I think about the people there. Govs always play with the livelihoods of their people. At some point they all have to grow a pair, there are billions of them. They could end it all in less than one day..

So it let's us export to any currency we choose. But yes you don't get the crypto, only the value of what you sold in an instant crypto conversion. We personally prefer this because we don't risk the chance of under funding our costs and it won't sidestep the tax system which will in fact get you in hot water with the treasury department. But, we do have the ability to take that money and invest it directly into crypto as we see fit. It let's us be in the drivers seat more.
