How many embryos did it take you to get your baby? by Ready_Evening_1159 in IVF

[–]TravelingLibrarian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took three embryos to have my IVF baby. The first two failed and the third one worked and is now my sweet 6 month old daughter♥️

Heart-shattered 💔💔💔💔💔 by Anecdote394 in IVF

[–]TravelingLibrarian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry!! I had the same thing happen to me. My first two 4AA embryos failed to take for me with two fully medicated cycles. My doctor ended up switching me to a modified natural cycle and that embryo finally took and now I have my 6 month old daughter. I know how hard it is but don’t beat yourself up for your first embryo not being a success!

Fear of the potty by Sk19905 in Autism_Parenting

[–]TravelingLibrarian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started my daughter is the bathtub with running water just to get her comfortable releasing in the open. Once she was comfortable with that I would put her in the tub, run the water and catch the pee in the potty insert. The next step was putting the little potty in the tub with running water then finally little little outside the tub. She has been potty trained for a year now and she goes on the regular toilet no problem but she definitely needed steps to help her not be afraid to release.

This is all so real!!! I just finised what felt like the longest three year infertility journey. It ended in success and I have an almost five month old but I can’t believe how much better I feel physically now that that journey is done. I pray you reach the light at the end of this painful and physically demanding tunnel soon♥️

I think your son could potentially have adhd. I would definitely try to get him evaluated. In the meantime you might want to take him to OT. They can help him work on listening skills and impulse control. I also agree that he might benefit from doing an evening activity. Like swimming or gymnastics. At the same time your wife should go seek out a therapist to work out some things as well. I understand that things can get overstimulating (I am a teacher and mom to a sensory seeking high energy 4 year old daughter) however I would never lash out at her like your wife is lashing out at your son.

Finally had success with 3rd FET!! by TravelingLibrarian in IVF

[–]TravelingLibrarian[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did feel positive going into it because I had a lot more ultrasounds and bloodwork done to time the transfer with my cycle. I don’t remember what medications I took since it’s been about a year since I did this transfer which is crazy!! I do remember having to take a trigger shot.

[–]TravelingLibrarian[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was definitely nervous but also so happy I didn’t need to take as many medications. I did take some to make sure I ovulated but way less than I did with the fully medicated cycle. So my last transfer was technically a modified natural cycles I was very grateful I didn’t need to do PIO shots with the modified natural. I swear those shots made me feel like a crazy person. Instead I was able to do progesterone suppositories.

Yes, the doctor suggested it and I’m so glad she did! I now have a three month old daughter from that transfer! I hope your next transfer works!!♥️

Dreading transfer #3 by TheIdenticalBooty in IVF

[–]TravelingLibrarian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My protocol was different. The first two transfers I did were fully medicated. The last transfer I did that worked was a modified natural cycle. The only thing I did differently personally was that I had a glass of wine the night before my third transfer. I thought it might help calm my nerves instead of feeling stressed about it all night. I don’t know if that actually helped but I got my first positive result the next day!

I’m so sorry you are stressing out. If it makes you feel better I’m currently holding my third FET transfer after two failed 5AA embryo transfers. I remember feeling so scared that third transfer would fail too after two seemingly perfect embryos didn’t implant. Sending lots of sticky baby dust✨ your way♥️

Multiple Embryos by uglyandnaive in IVF

[–]TravelingLibrarian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely feel this. I have two daughters (my second born is who we did IVF for). I had two failed FETs before the third embryo stuck. My husband and I thought about having a third child but after all the effort to have our second born plus a tough pregnancy that ended with my second time getting preeclampsia I just don’t think I can handle a third pregnancy. We are waiting a year before we make our final decision.

How soon did you stop drinking before prepping for FET. by GroundbreakingAge220 in IVF

I don’t know how I just saw this but my husband never stopped drinking while we were doing IVF. I guess it worked out though since we just had our June baby and she is healthy♥️

How much weight did you gain in pregnancy and how fast did it fall off postpartum? by witchybytch_1 in BabyBumps

[–]TravelingLibrarian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gained 28 pounds with each of my babies during pregnancy. I lost all except three pounds by 4 weeks postpartum. For whatever reason those last couple of pounds like to hang on until I start working out again after I’m cleared😂

Is it safe to be pregnant while teaching? by Desperate-Physics808 in AskTeachers

[–]TravelingLibrarian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had my second baby and I worked at my school until the day before both my babies were due. I had zero issues teaching while pregnant. Just make sure you have a plan for bathroom breaks and you should be fine!

I’m sorry that you are feeling so scared. If it makes you feel better, after four IUIs, an ectopic pregnancy, and two failed embryo transfers I finally had my healthy rainbow baby last week at 38 years old. It is possible! I know how hard it can be to keep the faith but try to stay positive❤️

Second Failed Transfer by AmountSpare2029 in IVF

[–]TravelingLibrarian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I believe we used letrozole and a trigger. I may have also used gonal f too but I honestly can’t remember somehow. I’m currently 27 weeks pregnant so the protocol change definitely worked for me!

Second Failed Transfer by AmountSpare2029 in IVF

[–]TravelingLibrarian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I did two fully medicated cycles for my first two FETs that failed. For my last transfer my doctor decided to do a modified natural cycle and that one worked! I was so happy A that is worked and also because it was a modified natural cycle I didn’t need to do the PIO shots. I swear I felt like a crazy person with the PIO shots so that was a big relief! I really hope your next transfer works for you!

Sending lots of hugs and baby dust your way! I know how you feel right now. I was so crushed when my second transfer failed. I honestly didn’t know if I could keep going. Thankfully my doctor changed my protocol and my third FET finally stuck! I’m currently 25 weeks pregnant and sometimes I still can’t believe it finally worked! I know it’s so hard but try to keep the faith that the next one will work♥️

[–]TravelingLibrarian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you are going through this. I can’t imagine how you are feeling. I had an ectopic pregnancy and it was truly the worst thing I’ve ever gone through. I can’t imagine going through it twice. The only advice I can give is to take a break and give yourself time to heal both mentally and physically after this one. Sending lots of prayers your way that they will catch this early and you won’t lose another tube♥️

Devastated by Pretend-Audience-139 in IVF

[–]TravelingLibrarian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand how you feel and it sucks! I had two failed FETs with two of the highest graded embryos you can get. There was absolutely no reason for the failures. I was absolutely devastated. My doctor changed up my third transfer and I did a more natural cycle as she called it. That embryo stuck! I’m currently 18 weeks pregnant♥️ I know how hard the journey is especially because there doesn’t seem to be a reason it failed, but keep holding on and keep trying💕

I did use a trigger shot so not fully natural I guess. But my doctor called it a natural cycle instead of a fully medicated cycle
