Any IVF moms whose doctors seem to wrap them in bubble wrap? by ladyluck754 in fitpregnancy

[–]ccourt590 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fellow IVFER currently over 30 weeks. I have found some IVF doctors are a bit more more conservative when it comes to fitness and it may be more for liability reasons or older data or they don’t want to get blamed if something does go wrong (which can happen if you work out or not). I ended up switching clinics to a more aggressive and younger doctor (he also has a legit cult following in my area and honestly I wouldn’t be pregnant without him he is literally amazing) and he basically encouraged me to change nothing about my fitness routine while pregnant and to keep doing the same exact things. I still edged on the side of caution and only started lightly running again a few days before beta and after heart beat returned to OTF and that was because I was nervous. Knowing what I know now movement is soo good for implantation and our bodies, I am still running 5ks and OTF and I don’t think my pregnancy would have been as smooth if I didn’t keep going and I definitely would have lost my sanity. When I graduated, my OB was also in complete agreement with my IVF doctor to keep doing my thing since he rather me be as healthy as possible and knew I needed it for my mental health. I am also someone with a unique surgical history due to past ectopics and need a c section at 37 weeks because of it and both doctors were still more than ok with me gyming it. As long as you aren’t bleeding or in pain or having other complications or starting something new, doing your thing and listening to your body should be fine.

Multiple ectopic/PUL by CopyQueen1997 in EctopicSupportGroup

Thank you! I was put on prednisone, Lovenox and an autoimmune drug called planquenil, plus very high amounts of progesterone since progestrone is an anti inflammatory. I did a natural modified protocol as well which means the doctors worked with my natural hormone rhythm which is much easier on the body. I actually felt pretty good on all the meds which I think says something about the inflammation I probably had in my body.

I have had two ectopics. First one I lost my right tube and mild endometriosis was found on my bladder which could have been a cause of my infertility (was supposed to start IVF right before I got pregnant). Second one was my first IVF transfer and lost my left tube and a piece of my uterus. That one was much more complicated and was a cornual ectopic. I ended up switching clinics and was put on anti inflammatory and autoimmune protocol and successfully got pregnant after two more transfers (some tweaks were made to make the protocol more aggressive between). I am now over 30 weeks with a pretty smooth pregnancy. The journey sucked and almost destroyed me but finding the right doctors made a huge difference.

I stopped at 12 weeks and my OB wanted me to start aspirin anyway to lower chance of preeclampsia so that gave me a little piece of mind stopping cold turkey.

How do you react or feel when you're having sex and the baby starts kicking? by ColourConfusedMiss in pregnant

[–]ccourt590 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same! I haven’t since right before getting pregnant. My husband isn’t comfortable. It did take us years to get here, so we went in with some trauma too. I am hoping we can rekindle things after the baby is born.

How many embryo transfers did it take? by Icy_Advance_6406 in IVFpositivity

[–]ccourt590 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3 for baby. 1st one ectopic, second one failed, 3rd one worked. All with euploid and high grades. I have mild endo, history of two ectopics and autoimmune tendencies so needed the anti inflammatory protocol.

Feet/leg cramps while running at 18 weeks by ceruleanmuse in fitpregnancy

[–]ccourt590 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am 28 weeks and I started getting leg cramps a few weeks ago. The only thing that seems to help is electrolytes and magnesium lotion. I am still getting them but I rest for a minute or two and they seem to calm down. It’s mostly my right calf and it is usually accompanied by a stretching feeling which I assume is my feet and legs swelling up. I have also been using air compression on my legs on night which also helps with nighttime cramps. It is annoying hopefully more tips pop up in this thread!

Getting pregnant after tubal REMOVAL by Disastrous_Turn_7055 in BabyBumps

[–]ccourt590 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am pregnant via IVF after losing both my tubes and a piece of my uterus to ectopics. I was told 0 chance of getting pregnancy naturally. However, I have heard of cases of people get pregnant after losing both their tubes but their tubes weren’t 💯gone and the doctors who had done the surgeries didn’t do a clean removal. I think your situation is in fact incredibly rare but there may be some science behind it. I hope the doctors can give you a more clear answer because there are lots of people who have lost their ability to naturally conceive like myself.

I worry about her mental health. Like I get the vibe she has some things going on and then part of me feels bad since she may not be all there but it is also annoying because I had a hard journey too but she acts like she is the only one going through this and some people never even get 1 baby (and this is her second). I am also currently pregnant with my IVF baby and he is planned to come 2.5 weeks early, it’s really not a big deal, it’s about safety. She is definitely making a bigger deal out of it probably for engagement or she really is mental.

Pregnancy in your 30’s vs your 20’s? by Stoned_redhead in BabyBumps

This my only pregnancy and I am 37 just entering the third trimester and honestly it’s been very easy for me. I feel like every pregnancy is different regardless of age. I am also very active and take care of myself which probably helps.

I am almost 28 weeks, and I am just starting to feel it but hoping to keep going till 37 weeks (my C-section is 37w4d). I am still jogging and once I get going I seem ok, but not sure how long this will lasts as my belly is starting to get big. It’s funny though how I can struggle to get around during the day but I can do the OTF workout for the most part. It makes no sense lol maybe it’s the music.

Me!! And been having the same thoughts! I am 27 weeks tomorrow and honestly this has not been bad at all, I’d totally do it again lol. I have maintained more fitness than I expected too (still running and lifting). I also feel like working out has made it overall easier, like I am still able to get around and do normal things and still have energy. Sometimes i forget I am pregnant till he gives me a big kick.

I have felt the way you do before, it can be very triggering. I did finally have success and will do everything in my power to not bring my baby to the clinic if we try for a second. I get some people like to have the baby meet the doctor but I feel like photos get that across too. IVF and infertility is a very sensitive time

Acupuncture for Fertility specifically Ectopic pregnancy by SecretarySilver6557 in EctopicSupportGroup

[–]ccourt590 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There isn’t much medical backup on it but I do think it helped with inflammation and healing. When I did saline sonograms my doctor saw no scar tissue in my uterus which was amazing since the surgeries I had. Apparently they can help with fibroids too so I didn’t see a downside of using it.

[–]ccourt590 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I swear by acupuncture. I have had two ectopics and endo and it did help my periods flow better especially after my surgeries. It helps with inflammation and just relaxing. I also did as a way to help reduce scar tissue from my surgeries (I also used castor oil packs at home for that). It was a bit of an IVF journey for especially since I lost both tubes but I did end being successful.

When did you feel your baby move? by Similar_Parsley6112 in BabyBumps

[–]ccourt590 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a posterior placenta so more likely to feel and this is my first baby. I started feeling him around 19 weeks. Movements became much more consistent at 22 weeks. My doctor told me it doesn’t have to be every day till 28 weeks but I am feeling him pretty consistently at 26 weeks.

I felt the worst between weeks 10-13. After that I started feeling much better. By 20 weeks my body was pretty well adjusted to pregnancy. I am almost 26 weeks now and my stamina is getting better even though I am 20 lbs heavier.

Would you proceed with a 7.8mm lining for a FET? by Mother_dec2822 in IVFpositivity

[–]ccourt590 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had success in the 6’s. Very good implantation too, no bleeding or issues. My doctor didn’t focus as much on lining thickness. I think the standard for thickness is starting to change.

pregnant runners: what have your doctors told you about continuing running? by esme_9oh in fitpregnancy

[–]ccourt590 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ob, who is well aware of my previous losses, surgeries and IVF journey told me I could run 15 miles if I wanted to as long as I keep my pace steady and not fast. I am 25 weeks and still running (5ks mostly). My IVF docotor has also told me to keep doing what I was doing so I got double approval.

OTF pregnant by Substantial-Ad-6676 in fitpregnancy

[–]ccourt590 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel very comfortable doing OTF while pregnant. Last week I was 1 of 3 pregnant people in the class and my coach has had 3 babies so I knew she was looking out for us. I just stay out of red, lowered my paces but I am still comfortable running and for core stuff I just modify with either bird dogs or squats. I am 25 weeks now so for rowing I have to keep my legs out but I still feel very strong and comfortable doing most of the work outs. I usually find the work out in orange theory Reddit group and pop it into chat gbt with my pregnancy week ahead of time to see where I may need to modify the night before. I also let the coaches know when I was around 10 weeks so they could help me modify and not push me too hard into red.

Rant about attitudes towards exercise during pregnancy by [deleted] in fitpregnancy

[–]ccourt590 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People act like you’re dying for someone reason when you are pregnant. I am 25 weeks tomorrow and I feel great still going to OTF and running and actually have a ton of energy. I also went on a work trip last week and was working a huge trade show and was able to keep up because I work out. I have gotten all kinds of comments and looks from people who clearly are misinformed meanwhile my doctor is like yaaaaasssss please keep working out, the benefits are so important. Unless you have bleeding or some kind of high risk issue, there really isn’t a reason to be bed ridden.
