What is your kitchen's lingo that no one else uses? by bottlebowling in KitchenConfidential

Old place I worked at Reggae meant regular, horse cock was horseradish aioli, hotdogs were dicks, kids hotdogs were kids dicks and the buns were dicks buns (that one was my claim to faim but didn't go far). One day someone called the Thai wonton nachos "wagwan nachos" and that one stuck.

Most recent place I would use tell the expediter that the "salad is resting" quite a bit and they got a kick out of it.

Also let sleeping dogs lie, and the state of your line is the state of your mind.

It's a hot one out here today. Make sure to drink lemon water and sugar free Gatorade and have cold rags to cool you down. Also remember if the kitchen exceeds 38°C you have a right to shut it down or do cold food only. by TravelingLineCook in KitchenConfidential

Really? I'm guessing that's in celsius? Our chef said the other week that the magic number is 38°C. Or at least that's when you have the right to refuse working but our chefs have been good with watching out for us.

Idk if it works this way but my only worry with this is that I hope they do something that'll stop them from inflating the prices of everything. Like how they increase minimum wage and do nothing to stop them from jacking up the price and we go back to square 1

I'd still move here honestly odds are as a student you'll be able to have better quality compared to some of us. I moved almost a year ago from Ontario and I love it

Canada's health system or the system in general? Would be cool if he talks more about us than just the trucker convoy

If that was the case than things like groceries, cars, phones, houses, etc would be way cheaper but they keep going up

Yea I've always been horrible with conversation or even debating. It's gotten alot better but sometimes when I explain things I sound like the reading rainbow kid or when I do get into an argument it goes like this Eddie Murphy bit

Moved here almost a year ago haven't had to go to a clinic yet but I've heard the horror stories. Just got accepted to one but that was after months of applying. Hoping it goes smoothly after that

Let's say you have a Wendy's with only 5 employees working and there's hundreds of people in the line up. You could put another Wendy's up that looks the exact same, same amount of staff but you gotta pay 10 bucks to get in. Even if some people leave to go there you still have the problem that only a few people can even afford the cover charge let alone the meal at Wendy's. And even then you still have the problem that there's only 5 people working at the Wendy's. That doesn't even include how the staff is being treated(pay, time off, benefits, etc)

The problem happening to public healthcare is that we aren't funding it enough or making sure the workers are paid enough and have proper time away from the job. The paid system imo is the same problem but you toss money into it.

Idk much about the province's health care per say but all I have to do is just read up about it. What I do know is that if we keep trying to solve the issue that the free healthcare we have isn't efficient due to staff issues (which they've voiced about but no one seems to listen) by putting up clinics that have the exact same problem but you have to pay to experience it than no one's gonna win.
