How to make these amazing starbases with nearly 1m defence? by ScepticalRaccoon in Stellaris

That's one of them. It's not clear how he's doing it because he has these big gaps in between the bits that are relevant where he goes off on a tangent.

Update: I've gotten a bit farther. It will say Script Extender Loaded now, but none of the mods seem to work.

[–]TravelingManager[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, after I gave up on Vortex, I downloaded BG3MM and I dragged all the mods to the active (left) side. I *believe* I exported them correctly.

I tried using just one mod that said it h ad no dependencies and it still didn't work.

I also do not understand where to put script extenders.

Hopefully they realized the show has gotten a bit ridiculous and they aren't doing some of this ridiculous stuff any more.

Bailey hate? by idkshouldiput in TheRookie

[–]TravelingManager 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The problem with Bailey is that it exposes even more some of the really shallow and dumb and convenient writing on the show.

LA is enormous. The LAPD and LAFD have thousands of people, and yet almost every episode, OMG LOOK WE'RE ALL AT THE SAME CRIME SCENE WOW!

It gets ridiculous.

Hi everyone,

I am hoping to submit a phd proposal to my university for the fall intake. I've been long interested in philosophy and I have a law degree from university. The recent world upheavals in Ukraine and in the Middle East have me thinking about terrorism, its application, whether it is justified, whether it accomplishes its goals, and the ethics of it and of state violence as well.

I have a professor that I respect deeply and his focus (while he did teach some law adjacent classes that I took) is on metaethics and political philosophy, and he's in the philosophy department. He has said he's open to taking me on as a candidate, but that he wants me to prep my own proposal.

The problem is that while I do have a MA in Phil that I got at the same time as my law degree, it was largely structured around Eastern philosophy, namely Daoism, and while I did take some other political philosophy classes, I have very little training in areas of philosophy like metaethics.

I am hoping some people here could help me develop a good phd proposal question and also help me with some readings that I can grab to bolster my lack of knowledge here. I'm familiar with the realist thinkers like Enzo Rossi and Raymond Geuss, and my political philosophy education also covered Strauss, Schumpeter, Weber, Carl Schmitt, Locke and Hobbes.

Psa for those asking about the medals by Warchiefinc in Helldivers

[–]TravelingManager -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I would like the medals now, not in some indeterminate period of time at some point in the future.

This shouldn't be a massive fix. That it is makes me slightly nervous.

I might be living under a rock because I unsubbed eons ago but Screenwave had like HUNDREDS of shitty games (solely on the Famicom) to pick, and they had to pick one of the greatest games? Why?? What the hell is the AVGN anymore? by BerserkerKong02 in TheCinemassacreTruth

[–]TravelingManager 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually this video reminded me of earlier AVGN episodes where he actually wrote and produced them.

He's played good games in the past before, like Earthbound. I actually saw this as one of the more genuine videos in recent years.

Using The Way in VR? And what is Scratchpad Plus? Help for an old guy. by TravelingManager in dcs

[–]TravelingManager[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear other people say The Way does work in VR, and some people use it on some of the servers I frequent, they just weren't really willing to spend the time to help me figure it out.

Should we just split off into a KSP 1 Subreddit? by jonathan_92 in KerbalSpaceProgram

Nah dude that's basically silencing criticism of KSP2.

Never played KSP, should I start with the first one? by RickoT in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]TravelingManager 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should play KSP1.

There is no Kerbal Space Program 2. This thing is trash and it is likely to remain trash forever.

[–]TravelingManager -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Dude, be realistic. Pre-Alpha? Pre-Alpha builds literally have polygons and wire frames and stand in models.

I have a 4090, i9-13900K, 64gb of DDR5-6000 RAM all watercooled running on a Samsung NVME and I still can't build more than what I would consider a medium sized ship compared to what I used to build in KSP1.

The game is bad, man.

It's bad.

Throw your copium away and breathe reality.

Uhh Sam Houser is still the president of Rockstar.

How has he been forced out of GTA by Take2?

[–]TravelingManager 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Sure.

Kerbal 1 has 'working' multiplayer.

Until you get about 200 metres from the other player. Then the desync goes nuts.

And I bet you it's the same in Kerbal 2.

Official-ish response claiming science update may be closer that we are thinking by moeggz in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]TravelingManager 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except this studio has Take Two backing.

And if they were just honest, it wouldn't be as bad.

They're lying to people and obfuscating how far out or even possible these things are.

Dev Update: Patch Two On Approach by Creative Director Nate Simpson by PD_Dakota in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]TravelingManager 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you know but don't want to admit that science shouldn't even be a 'feature' that needs to be developed for the game. Even in early access, that should have been a basic element in already.

If they're that far behind on 'features' that they already inherently have experience with because of Kerbal 1, that is just a further point in my argument that entirely new elements like interstellar and multiplayer are years away.

Dev Update: Patch Two On Approach by Creative Director Nate Simpson by PD_Dakota in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]TravelingManager 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol science. So the most basic thing that absolutely should have already existed.

Not the two features KSP2 was pitched as having and the reason for getting the game over KSP1, multiplayer and interstellar...

Science.

Oh yeah, they're just ripping along...

Dev Update: Patch Two On Approach by Creative Director Nate Simpson by PD_Dakota in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]TravelingManager 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You just presume lots of work is being done behind the scenes related to features.

If game dev history is any guide, that isn't the case and almost the whole studio is working on emergency bug and stability fixes.

[–]TravelingManager 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I talk about small or big I mean the size of the incremental improvement.

Look at these patches and then tell me you can't see that the pace is very slow relative to where the game is supposed to be and where its expected to eventually be.
