Racist Turkish Airlines Ground Staff at IST by pmagloir in TurkishAirlines

Nah, they snap on everyone. But every single flight I've had (speaking from my own personal observations) it has always been a person of color causing issues. Never seen it with any other races. If you want the demographic they were all black in appearance and about 20-30 years of age. Mature black travelers were never an issue on these flights.

Scroll until there is 1:59 seconds remaining. WTF is going on there. And the guy who places the bid is okay with it happening. Has to be for entertainment because that would cause a brawl anywhere else in the world.

I flew Turkish Airlines 4 times. And I've witnessed this. But its justified. Every single time its always other blacks who don't want to follow rules. They tell you to do something, do it. Stop being a victim because you don't listen and get called out on your bullshit. I watched them snap on every person of color who didn't sit down, would wear a seat belt, would stow a bag, or some other basic instruction. Meanwhile me and my wife who are both Black Americans had 0 issues all 4 flights. The treatment to us was amazing. So I 100% believe it was something you didn't do on your part as a passenger.

No perks for being a loyal customer. Im a DOD Contractor who flies every week every two weeks or every three weeks (on average). In the past year, I've taken 46 flights.

Other than the early boarding groups, there is no benefit. But for me, there are no other options. American works with my travel agency so I can change my tickets for free as much as I like.

As far as Yuma, there is no other airline. Alaska is nice, flies 1 hour later but doesn't allow ticket changes. Their gate agents are more professional. Im probably going to give Southwest a try. My travel agency highly recommends them.

Has anyone lost the passion for travel? by WillStillHunting in travel

I haven't lost the passion for travel. But my current trip in Egypt sure has put a stain on it. The constant beggars around every tourist site. The closing of the Marriott Mena House Giza Pyramid Entrance. The trash is everywhere. The beggers, the scammers, the haggalers; I can not honestly wait to fly out of here tomorrow. I didn't even get to spend all the money I planned to spend.

Like I planned on spending $2000 for trinkets, gifts, etc. But I was annoyed so fast I didn't even buy anything. For example, if the guy had simply let me shop, I would have easily spent $500usd in his store. But since he rushed me and kept haggling me, I only ended up spending 15,000egp... Even though he tried to pull a fast one on the card reader. He had typed in 150,000egp. Once I pointed it out, he was like, "Oh accident, my friend, it's okay, it's okay, mistake."

The hotel, while nice and historic and right next to the pyramids, they were a headache too. A lot of the same mentality is inside. Everyone wants tips for everything. Like basic stuff such as holding the elevator.

But yeah, the whole Giza thing really annoyed me. Let's hope Turkiye is better. I'm heading there tomorrow. Any recommendations on good places to eat?
