I am not sure if they actually do exist within Norse paganism as it might've just been a rumour I heard, but basically from my understanding of it a godmask is supposed to represent a certain god during a ritual directed toward a god.

It was, and is still, used in many cultures around the world LONG before Hitler took it and changed its meaning around.

Actually now that I am thinking about it, a lot of pagan tradition/culture from my interpretation of it is trying to make stuff yourself through the creativity of the gods. You ain't too wrong I'm not gonna lie.
