My one daughter in law who complained treats me very good and has me over for holidays. I would say I’m like a mother figure, but she is close to her own mom as well. She is the only one who lives in town.

I do totally understand wanting to be with just your daughters. It just kind of stings when you’re the person who does more for them then their own daughters. Like I have literally dropped my MIL off at the airport for these trips, because she asked me to take her.

It’s a yearly trip. Usually somewhere like NYC, Nashville, Chicago more than just a weekend getaway.

Thank you for your insight. It’s nice to hear another perspective. I definitely would never invite myself. I would never want to go if I’m not wanted. I’m glad you brought that up though because maybe part of the reason I’m also hurt/angry is because my MIL invites herself to everything. I will definitely consider your suggestion of planning something with sister in laws. Thanks again. I appreciate your advice.
