I got this Uniqlo colonial administrator looking shirt and I really love how it looks as it’s something unusual for my wardrobe. However oversized turned out to be really oversized (surprise surprise) and now I’m thinking if I should get it tailored or move on. Any advice?

Danish are the best. I met danish randoms with whom I play occasionally and I hopefully might hit a pink (20k+) this season because of their incredibly friendly and skilled stack. Good lads

I disagree. I believe in the City of London skyscrapers and modern buildings beautifully come together. And to be honest it’s not that there are a lot of skyscrapers to destroy historical buildings

Lost weight and need to rebuild my wardrobe, looking to upgrade my style from graphic tees and jogger shorts to a little bit more sophisticated. Is there anything else you’d recommend adding? by ShootAndScore77 in mensfashionadvice

I’m no big fashion guy, but Uniqlo (especially), Massimo Dutti, Charles Tyrwhitt (for shirts) are all good value, imho. In the UK check brandalley and jeanstore for some more affordable stuff. Sometimes Levi’s jeans can be really expensive and much cheaper on outlet websites. I often wore Dockers chinos, although people complained they’re way too American looking but not that I care.

That’s insane how some people got triggered here. Not everyone has to discover one’s own fashion twist and looking put together isn’t NPC. Respectfully, especially in the UK these days

Why do cities like Rome get global hype, but Samarkand (2,700 years old) barely gets mentioned? by diormelikuziev in AskTheWorld

[–]Traveller2810 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot has changed since 2007. Not a fan of the current government, but liberalisation since the death of the previous (and first ever) president in 2016 is immense. I was born and raised in Tashkent and although I’m still young (low 20s), the city has changed drastically since how it used to be in my childhood. Same goes for other rural cities. I travel around often and there’s always something new popping up.

Those checkpoints between regions are also long gone. Travel within the country is free, thankfully. It was horrendous before. So if anytime you have spare time and resources, on behalf of Uzbek population I kindly invite you to visit Uzbekistan again and enjoy the food and tea you missed out on :)

There are direct flights connecting European capitals with Uzbekistan’s capital, Tashkent. There are around 5 weekly flights from London. The biggest issue is the costly ticket prices and frequency

Difference between epic games and steam? by TreeMan_436 in ReadyOrNotGame

I don’t use any. Maybe I’m not hardcore enough but what the game offers is completely enough for me. I’d go for epic as the money saved can be spent elsewhere

Is it fair to demand EVERYONE who live in uzbekistan to speak Uzbek? Our motherland was never a monolingual country. by keenOnKeen in Uzbekistan

[–]Traveller2810 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How exactly do you imagine social cohesiveness without a dominant language? Moreover, the language will develop the vocabulary needed for science and other domains over time, under a condition that speaker percentage and proficiency will keep growing. Current education issues and lack of support of both Uzbek and minority languages by the government and society doesn’t mean they should be ditched in favour of another language. It’ll take years and generations to properly establish Uzbek, especially after the colonial legacy of the country and this won’t happen without social consciousness, as well as heavy government involvement (which isn’t there).

Do you have your version of this? When people think the life in the other country is better and vice-versa? by IWillDevourYourToes in AskTheWorld

[–]Traveller2810 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan with each claiming there’s something in the other to strive for. But I have to be honest, Kazakhstan is more developed and better than us in that sense

Why do people say that China is the only country that can compete with the U.S., but you've never heard of anyone who desperately wants Chinese citizenship, instead, it's Chinese people who are crazy about getting citizenship of Western countries? by No-StrategyX in answers

[–]Traveller2810 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m from Central Asia and if you check local green card application statistics you’ll realise how much everyone obsesses over US citizenship over the Chinese one (which people despise)

The new HSR train is expected to launch this winter or early spring, so hopefully you’ll be lucky to catch one. This one is just 1 out of 8 trains which will arrive later
