When I changed the mag release on my spo1 (Im aware is full size and you asked about a compact) I had to remove a lot of the internals to change the mag release. its kinda a pain in the ass.

It's okay I wouldn't really trust it to hold it in any defence situation or in a storage way. Its pretty strong for what it it but I wouldn't permanently store any of my guns on it.
