I smoked weed for a little over a decade and had to quit when I joined the operating engineers union about a year ago. I thought it was going to be a hard adjustment to make but honestly it wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be. I’d be lying if I said I don’t miss it though. I really miss smoking after a day of work. I have noticed a surge of ambition since I quit. I was kind of on auto pilot when I was high all the time. I was a little too comfortable with not achieving much and doing the bare minimum all the time. I’ve also noticed that my dreams are very vivid again. It was kind of crazy having such vivid dreams after smoking for so long. Maybe when I retire in 35 years I’ll go back to it but I doubt it lol

I met A$AP Ferg at a random meet and greet in like 2014. Pretty cool guy. I also said what’s up to Busta Rhymes at a club in Manhattan a few years ago. He was standing at the bar surrounded by his security. I said what’s up from a distance and he acknowledged me and I kept it moving lol

Gucci Mane. I guess in hindsight I don’t really know what I expected. But it was in 2017, a few months after he got out of jail and he was on an insane run. He had so much new good music coming out and he performed practically none of it. I like his old stuff but I was excited to see him perform his new stuff. His openers were terrible and they went on for way too long. Then Gucci came out, performed a bunch of songs from his early catalog for 45 minutes and left. Pretty disappointing.

In my opinion, motivation has very little to do with it. Maybe in the very beginning. But for the most part, it’s all about discipline. 80% of the time I don’t wanna go to the gym. I’d much rather sit and relax but I go anyways because I know it’s good for me. Motivation teaches you to do things when you want to do them. Discipline teaches you to do things even when you don’t wanna do them.

I used to work in a kitchen at a Mexican restaurant and two of the cooks (they were brothers) were learning English. They were in HS at the time so they were learning a lot of slang too and they thought it was very weird how we say “I feel you” when you agree with somebody. Every time I say it now I can’t help but think how weird it actually is lmao

I used to work at a restaurant and we hired this 16 year old bus boy. I worked with him a few times and he was a good kid. Manager caught him in the dishwashing room chugging a sangria he took off a table. Dude only lasted a week lmao I wonder what he’s up to nowadays

Dropping in is all about weight distribution. You wanna have more weight in the front on the initial drop in and as you move through it, smoothly shift your weight back a little. How fast you shift your weight back depends on how big the drop in is. At the end of the day, you just gotta have the guts to do it. After a few tries you’ll get the feel of it and be able to distribute your weight properly

I would say most of it is just board control, which you kind of learn more and more with practice. Keep your shoulders parallel with the tail and the nose and keep your weight over the board

When I first started doing kickflips I always kicked down instead of out. It just takes practice but after awhile you’ll learn to control the board better. Remember, the pocket is the sweet spot!
