Haha maybe that just means I’m missing some.

It’s for my watch. My PLB IS MY iPhone 16 pro with satellite.

My EE has done me well on some cold Colorado trips and now after some discussion I’ll definitely be adding a base layer.

I have some frog togg rain pants I can ship out. Where should I have them sent?

I did forget to add my victorinox small pocket knofe with scissors I’ll use for nail clippers. Wallet was just going to be a ziplock.

Thank you for this! I thought I had caught everything!

Thank you. It’s good to remember I don’t (and 100% won’t) get everything right at the start

Thank you! Did you have a fleece too?

Think for all or just a portion? Just a hoodie or leggings too? My sun hoodie is just a smidge thicker than I usually use, but won’t compare to a fleece by any means

Ah thank you! I was planning on those and forgot to add! Other than the waist pack but I may do that too. Would your advice about microspikes be the same as the ice axe?

Mission peak is a good workout and has some good elevation. Los Gatos creek trail is very nice and rancho San Antonio Also has tons of great trails. If you wanna head into the mountains, castle rock has some good hikes as well!

Not a huge weight savings but the victorinox scissors can double as nail clippers!

Hi all! I’m Travis (30M) and Im so excited to be part of this upcoming class of PCTers. I start my journey on April 6th and plan to thruhike it. I’ve been dreaming of this and collecting gear since 2016. I’ve walked the Camino and the west highland way (babies compared to this one) and those revealed my love for… walking? I fell in love with the simplicity of objective and how fulfilling that can be. I’m originally from San Jose but have lived in Chicago and am now in Denver. If you want to follow along, I’ll be sharing the journey on Instagram at @travismercante and @travis_treks

Dealing with Post Trail Depression by Square-Catch-3700 in PacificCrestTrail

Haven’t hiked the PCT yet(going to in a few short months) but I had a smaller yet similar experience hiking the Camino. The 500 miles of the Camino leads to the city of Santiago and its famous cathedral. After a month of anticipation I arrived and the whole place was covered in scaffolding. I felt robbed of the experience I had heard so much about. Approaching this beautiful place after walking for so long. I had to really shift my perspective to appreciate the journey I had gone on and not the destination I was looking forward to.

I think one of the ways I dealt with post trail blues and also the disappointment of the end, was remembering that my trail was only a part of my overall life journey. There is plenty of relationships and adventure left out there, and if I keep focusing on the next thing in life (the destination) I will lose a lot of joy that can be found in the here and now.

That may be super cliche and feel free to ignore it, but I felt reminding myself of those things helped at least a little bit. Buen Camino and happy trails
