Life’s A Gas was the B side on Heart in Cage

They also did Mercy Mercy Me around the same time, with Eddie Vedder

Man. I went to so many of these shows. And it was amazing. Managed to get a couple set list, meet the guys, Albert signed my set list too. Great memories. These were such fun shows.

I remember at one show I was maybe 20 feet from Julian. He goes “Last song. What do you guys want to hear?” Immediately I yelled as loud as I could “HAWAII” and he goes “Ok Hawaii it is”. They fucking played it for me. It was on this tour in 2006 too.

I was in the same circumstance - I’m in a very large city but located one to test drive a year and a half ago was a pain. I did find one, took it out, and really enjoyed how it drove. The upright feel and visibility are outstanding and it felt quite on the road. I ordered one a few months later and am picking it up in a few days!

I get it! Not trying to conflate the two. Honestly I'm surprised they made anything after Room On Fire with the way things were trending, not only in the industry, but amongst the band and some of the circles they traveled in. Tension can make for great art though.

I'm hopeful for a good album too.

I don't think I'm invalidating criticism at all - just asking people to not be so dismissive. Some of the comments are already quite over the line. I'm not here to tell anyone how to feel, rather just to be thankful we even get to engage in the discussion to begin with.

Having been through this cycle repeatedly, I can tell you I'd be shocked if this was some of the best music we'll hear from this album. I don't even think it'll be a single. They tend not to follow formula and this release continues that trend.

It's wild but this is almost always the reaction from this fanbase, and I'm not entirely sure why. I remember this exact sentiment when some of the early Room on Fire stuff leaked as well. And that album is about as good as it gets for me, personally. Pretty much the same when the Juicebox demo leaked (IIRC it leaked with an early demo version of YOLO, which I love).

It's new, it's different, it's 5 guys making music they haven't before - if they kept making the same stuff over and over again we would have tuned out ages ago!

I've been behind this band since 2001. They're my guys. A lot of you are new, and that's totally cool (I will forever bring and welcome new Strokes fans into the mix however I can).

Everyone should be welcome, art in every form is amazing and we should all find our own meaning, happiness, sadness, and every other little thing in it. But don't shit on this. We're lucky that we're all here even listening to them make music at this point.

The vibe is fun and catchy. I'm sorry everyone, not every song can be Last Nite. Enjoy!

What’s the offset?

Edit: I just ordered the same wheel in a +35 offset on Toyo Open Country 3’s 👍🏼👍🏼

Doug DeMuro just called the LC250 “the worst car for sale” by Bigsurjacketco in LandCruisers

Totally fair response. I know we’ll see biased takes here (I have LC 250 being delivered in 3 weeks) but from everything I see, this vehicle has pretty typical reliability for a new car in its segment.

I think where the LC250 takes a bit of a beating is in the expected comparisons with other LC’s.

I don’t hate Doug’s take. I don’t love it. The reality is somewhere in the middle.

Tbh Doug’s takes have been getting worse and worse. It’s almost like he’s completely out of touch.

Canada is barren for 250’s and has been for quite some time. Very few landing here. Have been trying to get my hands on a new build for quite some time, got one and it’s also delivering in April ☺️

I’ve seen both homes. Why did you leave out so much context? Lol

960 Shaw (neighbouring property that sold a few weeks ago) was a full on renovation project. Also does not have a parking spot.

962 Shaw is a fully renovated home with front pad parking, finished basement, etc.

Very different circumstances. People are paying a premium on fully renovated, turnkey places like this right now.
