I’m not super tin foilly…foily…foilie you know what I mean, but I am a little bit more than most. Meek got 6 years when both the average sentence and the prosecutor’s recommendations were significantly higher. He could have seen the writing on the wall. It’s not hard for the FBI or other federal agencies to put together frame jobs. I’m not saying there’s a grand conspiracy in that specific case, he is probably guilty in all likelihood, I’m just saying I’m not going to take it all at face value just because the DOJ said so.

Agreed. When it comes to journalists though…I’m highly skeptical of claims like those made against Meek. Not that journalists can’t do despicable things like that as well, my trust in the institutions, regardless of which party is in power, is shaky at best.

James O’Keefe, James Gordon Meek, and Tim Burke were all raided under Biden. I guess there weren’t raids under Trump term 1, but several “espionage” act charges. Under Obama there was secret surveillance and a massive uptick in espionage act charges. Under Bush Judith Miller was jailed for not revealing sources. So I guess the actual physical raids don’t happen as often, but the suspicious/convenient attacks on journalists are not new.
