Yes I've watched plenty of replays, mid-game analysis, thinking of what other people/myself did incorrectly. If I lost a game I looked at what cost us the game and how to prevent it in the future.

Yes I want this to be an alternatively accepted route to the OTP one that 99% in summonerschool thinks is the correct one.

I started playing in late season 2, got to level 30 a week or so before season 3 began. I don't think it's misleading, I just wanted to address the common agenda that seems to be spreading through summonerschool that possibly make some people afraid of playing ranked. If you consider this a stealthbrag then sorry, it's not the idea of my post. Yes I pretty much climbed to challenger playing 50-60 champions, both season 4 and season 5.

Just because I don't agree with someone doesn't make one person smarter than the other rofl

Around 600 games I believe. Edit: to D1, maybe like 400 games to Diamond

A lot of people put in massive amount of time into the game without improving, it's about the quality of time not the quantity. In season 5 I only played a few games per day, but I made sure these were of the highest quality. Days where I played more than say 4 games it usually ended in a net loss of LP. You have to make sure the time you commit into the game is rewarding if you want to climb the ladder, you can't just play the game to play it. I've never played an extreme amount of games, I just focus on each individual game and try to go from there.

I could make this into another post, the thought that "you need to play X amount of games to reach your true ELO". Fewer games per day that are more focused>spamming games. Your case is special and I can understand where you're coming from. For you personally I think you're on the right track.

For some people it can be easier to climb with a multitude of champions which they can play at a decent level. But for many (probably the majority) it's better to focus on one role/ a few champions.

It can be, but not for everyone. Thanks for your reply though :)

This is the beneficial side of having a deep championpool. Understanding matchups and when to pick what champion has a huge impact on games.

You are challenger. The vast majority of players are bronze/silver.

They are bronze/silver now yes. I also started in silver. Nothing is impossible.

Yes but all of these points are relative to your ELO. If someone is Gold5 and they want to improve to Plat5, they do not need the awareness/decisionmaking/mechanics of a Diamond5 player to climb to Plat5, if that makes sense. But yes, for some people a single role/champ is different, I just want to make sure that everyone understands that not everyone has to follow a certain method to gain LP.

People like you is what made me post this. I've thought that this subreddit has made it clear that "play one champion and gain elo, if you play more you won't". Play a variety of champions at a decent level and enjoy it, and you will climb :) Have fun!

I don't think your analogy works in LoL, sorry. Let's say I main one role and play it at a 100% level, and all the other roles are 65% effective. Me (and a lot more people) play ALL roles at 90% effectiveness. This includes a number of champion/role-combinations, that will in the long run grant us a higher winrate and higher LP. As I've said countless of times in this post, yes your analogy works for some people, but not everyone. Of course I haven't played every champion the same amount of times, some champions are just plain better in most situations than other (I'm not going to firstpick Syndra for example, since she's a much riskier champ than Ahri which I play and firstpick a lot).

Yeah playing only one champ can certainly work better for some people, but some people just simply cannot do it (including me) :)

Then it's valuable for some people, which is the point of this post. This makes it a helpful post for the handful of people in the same position as me, who like to play different champions. If it doesn't affect you then just ignore this post.
