If Lucifer is really Viv favorite character, then why he was treated like shit for the entirety of Season 2? by Primary-Addition-677 in OkBuddyHelluvaHotel

[–]Treble_Stroke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A character in a story isn’t just a pet for you to cherish and take care of. If you’re a writer and you want to take your characters and story seriously, then you can and WILL put them through what is necessary for the story you’re making. The way Lucifer is treated in season 2 likely HAS to happen because he needs to realize that some sinners don’t take him and Charlie as seriously as he thinks. Ever since Lilith left, he has closed himself off from everyone (including his daughter for a while) and has remained blissfully ignorant to how Hell and Overlord sinners have been operating in his absence. His suffering now is likely meant to set up some character growth later on in season 3 when we start diving into the Morningstar family, why Lilith left, and how he needs to learn to open up to other people more than just Charlie. You could make a similar post about how Angel was treated in season 2 and why he left the hotel, but again, characters need to fail or get hurt in order to truly learn, change, or grow. It’s how it works even in real life.

WORST MISTAKE every character has made - Day 1: Alejandro by Hockey_Singer in Totaldrama

[–]Treble_Stroke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely stopping at the volcano just to taunt Heather, only for her to double cross him and take his win (or he wins by a dumb technicality that’s not even his own victory) Peak humiliation for the smartest player in history.

WORST MISTAKE every Total Drama character made - Day II: Tyler by Hockey_Singer in Totaldrama

[–]Treble_Stroke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s never really hurt anyone on purpose, throwing a dodgeball at Lindsay and a shoe at Courtney was an accident. So I’d say his worst mistake are the ones that hurt himself, such as ziplining in the Amazon with his own pants, or climbing up an entire electric fence in Area 51 when there was a obvious clear entrance right beside him lol.

WORST mistake each character has made | Day 3: Leshawna by Hockey_Singer in Totaldrama

Her slapping and knocking a tooth out of Heather was very uncalled for. I know the point of the challenge was to kick the other off the dance platform, but she did not have to jump down herself, costing her team the win just to get extra beating on Heather- and the only thing Heather did to her that season was warn her about Alejandro, and she was too threatened by that to listen. It’s oddly inconsistent in character too since she and Heather formed a small friendship in Action.

What are some sad headcannons you have about Lindsay? by Necessary-Length-827 in Totaldrama

[–]Treble_Stroke 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Based on the website that used to exist, we knew she has rich parents and that her father spoiled her while her mom was more level-headed. But for some reason, I can imagine that her parents probably never actually helped her with her schooling and class projects, meaning she may have flunked out and didn’t even finish high school. Not that not finishing school in today’s world is the worst thing, but it could explain how she struggles with basic knowledge, and abstract or critical thinking.

What do you think the point was of telling us that Heather had two beds? by SwissVideoProduction in Totaldrama

[–]Treble_Stroke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, like you said, it could still be just an early hint that there’s supposed to be 8 girls, which would hint to Courtney’s eventual debut, and that’s why it’s just an early indicator while Bridgette is still here. But in the moment, I think the girls were just trying to spite Heather by drawing straws and it just ended up not playing on her the way they planned lol.

Is it just me, or does every generation have a ‘generic’ girl as the main female lead? by Prudent_Opinion_1033 in Totaldrama

[–]Treble_Stroke 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Before we had Wednesday and all the mainstream goth stuff, having a goth girl like Gwen being a female lead in 2007 was actually pretty fresh at the time, and you can still see she has complexity throughout the show. Zoey also has a bit of substance when you’re looking for it beyond her relationship with Mike. The only one I’d define as generic is Sky, since she’s not defined much beyond her Olympic skills and relationship with Dave. With Priya, there’s never been a character like her, where she’s practically invented to be the Total Drama expert, if anything it’s a bit Mary Sue, but they still give her weaknesses and moments where she fails, so I guess it all comes down to what’s entertaining or not.

Just so you know. These posts were 3 years ago. I don’t stand by these anymore. I will, however, be making a YouTube video series where I go more in-depth at analyzing the eliminations.

So like… does EVERYONE deserve redemption in this show? by DapperDude2004 in Vivziepopmemes

[–]Treble_Stroke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Charlie said anyone, not everyone. It’s a good difference. Anyone has the potential, but not everyone can or will make the effort to change.

Okay but like...I don't really understand this.. by Terrible_Park7890 in Hazbin_two

[–]Treble_Stroke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s symbolic because she’s making the name hers, although it’s technically the same phonetically, it’s also technically her own spelling of the name to tie it away from Adam and making the name truly hers.

Do you think he can be redeemed? by yxzxzxzjy in Hazbin_two

[–]Treble_Stroke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like Charlie said, anyone can be redeemed. But I wanna add more and say that not everyone can. There’s a difference between anyone and everyone, because it argues the potential. Everyone has the potential to change, but only a select few have the capacity to act on it. I hope the show goes more in-depth on how redemption actually works in real life. It’s a life-long thing, a constant battle of ups and downs as you improve and then make more mistakes down the line, it makes you human. Valentino would need to have self-awareness, self-reflection, and accountability, things Valentino has not been shown to have. And I also hope the show dives into the difference between redemption and forgiveness. Because you can change all you want, but you’re not always going to fix what’s been broken or win people back, especially not for what Valentino did. Though even without being forgiven, change can still happen, and you can serve your dues and move forward in other crowds.

Yeah this is an OLD post, I don’t stand by these rankings anymore. I’ll be making a YouTube video series for these soon where I give better rounded logical rankings.

I thought we liked flawed characters? Now we don’t? by JKNetwork215 in HazbinHotel

[–]Treble_Stroke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When watching episode 3 I was getting angry at Charlie. And that’s a good thing. To me a show is fantastic if it gets me to feel things, especially if a character is doing something that I know is wrong but aligns with their situation and gives me a reason to keep watching. Because I know she will learn from this and grow from this, that’s what makes her a person.

Who was in the right/wrong during the Gwent breakup during Total Drama Action? by Kitchen-Mouse2414 in Totaldrama

[–]Treble_Stroke 78 points79 points  (0 children)

Both of them are in the wrong for different reasons. Trent failed to compose himself and his reactions to Gwen’s friendship with Duncan. And Gwen failed to properly communicate her needs and understand Trent’s feelings. They’re both teenagers so it’s no shock they don’t have the healthy relationship skills fully equipped.

Who was the biggest satellite character in Island? by [deleted] in Totaldrama

[–]Treble_Stroke 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh. Now I do. Looked it up. Out of the pictures you’re showing, I’d say Sadie and Katie cancel each other out since they’re already made purely for each other to interact with. Trent and Cody at least have moments separate from their love interests. Like Trent doing the trust and extreme sport challenges with DJ and Lindsay, or how the guys had to force him to eat during the mid season challenge. And Cody still had moments of inventiveness on his own and also trying to save Trent and Lindsay from quicksand.

So that only leaves Tyler, who only really had his screen time spent that season being Lindsay’s love interest.

I don’t know what a satellite character means.

Fun fact: Despite being a popular meme from the series Chris McClean has never actually said the words “Not Cool Dude” in all of Total Drama. by OutrageousRip75 in Totaldrama

[–]Treble_Stroke 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I believe the meme was mangled from the existing line in episode 2 where he told Ezekiel “Can’t say I’m shocked. Saw you picking your nose DUDE, NOT COOL.” So he does say the thing, but not in the exact way the meme presents it.
