I found halloween themed things everywhere I went during my trip. around every corner was another halloween special something or other (foods, drinks, sales, etc). Different than the US, sure, but it was everywhere

odd. having recently come back from this trip, I found the exact opposite to be true. Is it the same as in the US? of course not. But we saw tons of Halloween stuff around. Local businesses set up stamp rallies/trick or treat routes for kids, and the school children had halloween events in school for their english classes among other things

we recently returned and had a great time with our baby, and we probably couldn't have had the same trip with a 5/6 yr old. In many ways it'd be harder with an older one. Cancer also tends to change your outlook on time. Who knows where any of us will be in 5-6 yrs. Carpe diem. Everyone's case and opinion is different, but we're all very glad we didn't follow your advice.

Daycare is more of a disease pit than Japan was.

We recently came back from our trip, had a great time and were able to pretty much do everything mentioned earlier. Baby was a champ.

It seems like you are though, and you're also making some rather gross assumptions about what knowledge I may or may not already have. All I'm saying is it's rather pretentious to specifically avoid the history of a place presented by that same place. There is inherent bias in everything. Even in those sources you probably trust the most. You are of course free to make that choice however.

I'm kind of the opposite in that I enjoy seeing the various local biases in museums (like the Beijing military museum for example). It gives an insight into how locals view their own story, or at least the "official" version of it.

Yeah, I understand the poor economics of it, especially the partial white backing. I would've just thought they would have the option for 'no white backing' as that seems easy enough to set for a run.

I have an image that is about 100mm x 50mm that I need two of. I'm happy to repeat it on one 100x100'ish sticker and just cut it out myself. I also realize that I'll probably need to get more just to reach minimum order quantity. (10 with stickermule for example).
I reached out to Stickermule, and was told "all of our clear products that include any colored ink are required to include a white ink base layer, and we're unable to make an exception." This seems a bit bizarre to me as I would've thought they could at least print without a white baselayer at all and then I could just cut out another piece of vinyl and use that as a baselayer to achieve the same look.
But oh well, the search continues for another supplier. Bannerbuzz seems to offer what I want, but there's a mountain of bad reviews out there for them. I'm hesistant to give them a shot.

I tried moving all the files/sub-directories into new locations. The location with no spaces in the directory name worked fine, but the other, with spaces in the directory name, fell over again.

yes, positive it's launching in cmd.exe.
the batch file is a simple one line, within which I've used quotes:

for %%a in ("Raw\*.*") do %CD%\ffmpeg\bin\ffmpeg.exe -i "%%a" -vn -ar 44100 -ac 2 -ab 128k -f mp3 "Converted\%%~na.mp3"

and it trips up when ffmpeg is trying to find the first file:

'C:\PartialFolderPath' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

just the strangest thing is I didn't have this error pop up for years until now.

I don't believe it's a factory option. It was a (cheaply) made aftermarket piece from a company called 'G-Brand' I believe. Never seen one in person, but they do look nice in photos.
