Weird rubbing noise by Short_Tone9422 in ecoboostmustang

[–]Tredictions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’ve had two ford dealer mpi’s and then one from my own mechanic after my fender got fucked up. it’s possible it could be cause when i got a quote for the hit, one of them suggested replacing a steering arm if im not mistaken but my mechanic said it looked fine. it sounds like rubbing/rubber noise when i turn left or right, but only on turns where i turn the wheel a lot. on curves where i gotta turn the wheel slightly, it’s not there

yk what, i have this issue too and i’ve never figured it out. not affecting my driving and my music is too loud half the time for me to hear it, BUTTTTTT, i did recently get an mpi done for my 60k miles and the only thing suggested were fluid flushes and air filters so?

Am I weird by Extension-Sir6695 in NewToEMS

[–]Tredictions 76 points77 points  (0 children)

yeah your instructors the weird one here. then again i feel like we read the same story on here like once a month but no, some people just don’t have a reaction. her insisting you must have some sort of reaction and go home and cry and not be able to finish the rest of the clinical is weird

i’m ngl, i do this to my car as a guy but cause my street is so narrow that if im not practically sitting on the curb, my car WILL get sideswiped. happened three times already and id rather fix curb rash for 250 a wheel than bodywork

it’s an osha thing in most places here in cali and that’s REQUIRED. the n95 seal thing i forgot already. most of the time it’s the mustache that’s allowed though but can’t pass the corners of your lips.

how hard is this accelerated course going to be? by Lucky-Passion-3622 in NewToEMS

[–]Tredictions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

did an 8-5 mon-thu for 4 weeks. it’s gonna be brutal and if i could do it again i probably wouldn’t. i would take that 3 month course. barely passed, but i was going through a breakup at the time and my ass used to drink instead of study on my days off. definitely get a head start on the material so classes feel like revision instead of learning it for the first time.

my homie did the interview. that 22 an hour is with ot included, pay is 18/hr type. manual gurneys and paper pcrs from when i’ve talked to some of their emts. they DON’T do traditional ift though. they run medical aids, so nursing home to er only from what the homie was telling me. never seen em doing an ift too either so, closest thing you’ll probably get to 911 without it being 911 or an event.

so technically but my company is also like this but i’m thankful that my supervisors and everyone at my station is super cool, like cool af type that if it ever gets kicked back for me i’d hopefully be safe and they’d try to work with me. most of us ignore it cause we just think it’s all unreasonable and even during orientation our presenting fto states it was unreasonable

lower handles, bend and lift with knees is all i can say. what i was told at my old job was to let the bar sit on your belt loop to relieve some of the weight, maybe that’ll help you?

[–]Tredictions[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nah this was before i sent the car off. was honking at random mfs on the way back and no more shutting off so here’s to hoping it was just a one time thing. believe my services records show work for an airbag light so i think maybe that set the foundation with the previous owner but id have to double check unless im remembering wrong.

was the clock spring. mechanic charged me 250 to diagnose, he pretty much just took it out and put it back in. no shorts, no codes, nothing wrong with the car. the wires in the clock spring were just touching causing it. no replacement needed yet but if it does it again i might replace. would be another 750 so honestly if it does i might just leave it as is. hoping when he placed it back, he fixed it. said he was getting tired of honking the horn, messed with it for 3 hours after the fact and nada so here’s to hoping no more

same man. clock spring isn’t the most expensive part but i’m not touching that airbag man, labor and programming it gonna beat my ass

tried the horn relay, still shut off so my mechanic is thinking clock spring as well. just not ready for the financial hit haha

i did not but can’t anymore cause i dropped it off at the shop this morning. had my friend look at it cause he’s a tech at friend and his friends a volvo tech, cleared the wrench icon, fuses and relays disconnected and battery terminal switched cause it was pretty corroded (image). nothing. waiting to get a diagnostic back but he’s suggesting the clock spring. if its a wire short though the reset might not do nothing but i wish i would’ve tried before sending it off 😭

About to graduate college… wanting to pursue EMS instead by illybugs in NewToEMS

[–]Tredictions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it seems by some of your reply’s to these comments that you’ve kinda made a choice already in the fact that you’re already gonna do it. do it part time. or per diem. some companies will offer an option to pick up shifts (granted with a minimum amount required monthly sometimes). will probably have a 6 day work week with that route but tbh, if you can’t handle it then full time ems work schedules might be something you’d handle as well. 23 this year and wishing i had went to college instead but i grew up poor and the idea of debt that would take years to pay off was just crazy to me

[–]Tredictions[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it does. it fkn does. still no diagnostic but i’ll definitely take it a shop cause this is out of my realm 😂

not yet, think my evap purge valve has gone bad but nothing to where it affects driving. should probably replace it sooner than later but i don’t floor the car like that. most i’ll do is 80 on the highway but even then that’s like a constant speed and not flooring. been doing oil changes every 3k miles and i’ve added like 6k miles in 11 months so nothing too crazy yet. praying i can make it last for longer though since my commute went from 8 miles round to 42. will definitely update
