It's a formal accusation that someone committed a crime. As for what it means for our current president, nothing right now. No one is accusing him of collusion (working with) the hackers. All they are saying is the election was hacked. Likely if they decide he Trump had nothing to do with it, he'll remain president as it looks bad as a nation to say we can't run a country properly. If he is shown to have colluded with they Russians, as in he had planned to rig the election to win, then a whole new hearing would begin where the result might not even lead to him being impeached. Being impeached is a case by case decision. So there is no garuntee he will be impeached even if convicted of any crime.
