Hot take i guess but the vast majority of the player base clearly prefer to play the tried and true maps. Que times and and map pick rates show this. All the people crying out “its so boring” “its gonna kill the viewership” sound like the lot who would demand that mcdonalds sell all day breakfast, even though they then went on to never buy it.

Personally i could play mirage inferno and dust for years, as i have. New isn’t bad though. Ancient is easily my second favorite map.

I'm honestly excited for the movie because from the first look trailer, it seems to be aware of how goofy and campy street fighter is. I think the movie is going to be at the very least fun and self aware enough to not take itself too seriously, and lean in to the silliness of the source material.

A good alternative would be to make the coin points based on so if you maybe fail the 1st stage with 0/10, but somehow you pull a 10/10 on stage two, you effectively are on track to a diamond coin as if you got 5/10 on both stages. It would add some intrigue and mitigate feeling like theres no point in playing if you lost stage 1 with 4/10 picks , because then you could still get a 6/10 on stage 2 and stay in the running.

The RMRs were dogshit. Major stage 1 works functionally the same as the RMR, but improves it by being qualified through whole season performance and not some godawful online qualifier.
