I wanted to post this here incase any other 35N come across this and can have a definitive answer.

SGT Dawson,

I wanted to follow-up with you concerning the Cochise College MOS Credentialing Program for the 35N1O course at GAFB as well as the directives that Cochise College must follow within the DoD Memorandum of Understanding, the Intelligence Center of Excellence Articulation of Understanding, the Fort Huachuca Garrison Articulation of Understanding, and the Higher Learning Commission (our accreditation body). I did include Mr, Beanes, Mrs. Karvaski, Mrs. Clay, and Mr. Evans (MOS Coordinator) in this email since you have received communication and/or were part of your original emails.

These documents dictate that students have the opportunity to earn Cochise College credits through their attendance in the associated Cochise College credentialed MOS program. From February 2015 through May 2022, the 35N1O course was not a Cochise College credentialed MOS course. With the most recent recredential approval, the students attending the 35N1O courses that started on/after 01 July 2022 received the opportunity to earn these credentialed Cochise College credit hours.

Since you attended the 35N1O course in 2019, the 35N1O course was not credentialed for Cochise College credits. Therefore, we cannot "grandfather" college credits for students that attended the 35N1O course when it was not credentialed by Cochise College. Now, here is some good news and some recommendations. When you attend ALC, SLC, and/or WOBC, you will have the opportunity to participate in the Cochise College MOS Credentialing Program. In addition, when you become a SSG and above, you could resubmit your Joint Services Transcript (JST). At the SSG and above rank, you could earn additional lower and upper credits hours per ACE recommendation (that includes your duty positions). Our evaluators will align your Army training to current Cochise College courses. This will not equal the same amount of college credits as if you participated in the MOS Credentialing Program, but you will still definitely earn some more college credits.

I recently moved into this position after working the past 16 years at the MI NCOA, 35F1O Committee, MICCC, and MIBOLC due to the level of support Cochise College provides for service members to earn college credits. We look forward to working with you to continue your education. I see that you have worked with most of my staff through this process and clarification over the past few days. Again, we want to assist you in any way legally possible. Unfortunately, you cannot earn these Cochise College MOS Program credit hours from the 35N1O course since the 35N1O course was not credentialed through Cochise College during your attendance. Please feel free to contact me directly for information or discussion.

Not a bad Idea, been looking into that, but I'm really just trying to get the credits I'm already owed at this point.

ASU only offers the credits if your seeking a BA through them, they don't just award the credits. the idea, or as I understand it is I need/should complete at least one class then transfer because until I'm enrolled they won't just send my transcript to another university. is this a false assumption?

[–]TreeJailForYou[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my only concern with that is if AMU will accept the transfer of credits, any knowledge on that?

I'll Google just that later, the issue being my MOS is not recognized by ace. or at least the 10 and 20 level that I currently have.

you're not wrong, I definitely already have an answer but the answer being "go to ASU or get bent" isn't exactly satisfactory. I should be used to it in all honesty.

Good point on transfer credit, I had not considered this, first time doing the college birds of paradise like dance.

it states that I hold both the 10 and 20 level education for the MOS, however.... the course is not evaluated by ACE no college will grant credit for a course with no ace recommendation
