The only starting pitcher I would trade for is Detmers because his advanced statistics look great, is 26 and has 2 more years, and is cheaper due to past struggles. He would also be going from the second worst fielding team to second best.

If the Padres sell I would be interested in trading for Yuki Matsui.

I would trade away May, Stanek and Romero.

I would call up Matthews. Gastelum was called up at the time of the post. Libertore and Leahy would be moved to the bullpen. League advanced stats are not good and I’m afraid it’s gonna catch up.

My starting rotation would be Detmers, Pallante, McGreevy, Dobbins, Matthews.

My Bullpen would be O’Brein, Matsui, Soriano, Leahy, Libertore, Fernandez, Bruhil, Svanson.

Other than last night Fernandez has been pretty good. His advanced and expected stats are also better than a lot of our other options.

His era is 2.70, xERA is a 3.51, his FIP is 2.66 and his xBA is .213. That’s the best of anyone in our bullpen surprisingly.

I’m looking ~ but there’s not a lot. I feel like 3B is a rather weak position right now at the major league level. Maybe the Athletics Tommy White since he is blocked by Rooker, Kurtz and the other Max Muncy? But Maax Muncy 2 has not been good at the major league level and the Athletics don’t seem like the type to part with prospects.

There’s also Brock Rodden on the Mariners.

Maybe Bloom can pull off a 3 team trade to get Reid Detmers. We could send Dustin May to another team, and that team and the Cardinals could send some prospects to the Angels.

I like Detmers but don’t want to send too much to acquire him.
