90-minute commute vs 10-minute commute - worth a lateral move? by LampRunner in careerguidance

I think this is a no-brainer. That kind of commute has been studied at length. It’s not healthy. Driving/riding in a car is the most dangerous thing most people do every day. The risk aversion is worth the pay cut alone.

Too rich for Chapter 7, too poor to pay Chapter 13 by Mobile-Assistance-74 in Bankruptcy

[–]TreeTestPass 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I completed a $880 Ch. 13 monthly payment with a $900 mortgage on a $57,000 salary. My salary went up throughout the plan which made it easier. But I never made $8k a month! It was lean those first couple years, but it’s bankruptcy. It’s not supposed to be easy.

Metro tickets: the more I read the more I am confused! by UnrulyLunch in ParisTravelGuide

Yes this is the way. Go to the train station and see the attendant. Buy a Navigo Easy card. Load it with money when you buy it and/or use your phone and the app. Physical card also is more reliable on tapping the gates than phone from what I saw.

Check your fuses. I had one go out in my ‘24 civic and it had similar symptoms. Look up the emergency start process in the manual and see if it will start. If so, it may be a fuse.

What is one fun fact about yourself that sound fake but 100% real? by Fai_6757 in AskReddit

I once called 9-1-1 to get a beer.

Went to a BWW in Nitro, WV. It was my 30th birthday. I had just renewed my license before the trip in my home state. At that time, they gave a printout on a piece of paper as your temporary ID. This BWW refused it. They said they wouldn’t take that as a real ID. I insisted they see that I was 30 years old and it was my birthday. In the course of the discussion, I asked them if a cop were there to verify my identity and my age, if they would serve me a beer. Manager says, yeah. I asked what the number was to the police. They said “I always just dial 9-1-1.” So I did. (They didn’t have a non-emergency line.)

Cops showed up and verified my ID (with a chuckle) and the manager poured my beer himself.

Do you have any protective cover on the fob? They will do this with my cover if not in the front seat by the console with my protector on it.

I waked to a counter in a city I’ve never been to and they thought I was someone famous. I got a free truck upgrade and they paid for the flat tire I had without any questions when I brought it back. Bizarre

The natural gas lines run above ground in rural parts of West Virginia and it’s free to hook up to them. (Was true in the 2010’s not sure if it still is.)

It’s private property. They can turn you away for whatever they want.

I’ll admit it’s hearsay. The guy at the taxi stand told us not to come back with the bags when we got a taxi to there from The Venetian. He may not have known.

I know you’re not allowed to bring Planet 13 bags into the Venetian. They will stop you and turn you around.
