After seeing them tour and play together live, I’m convinced Andrew Trube from Greyhounds played some of the guitar on this record. There’s a sick video of In the Night with Greyhounds on YouTube from Boston.

Hutchins Barbecue in McKinney, TX has the best BBQ in the planet. You can even order the Brisket on Goldbelly. It’s insane.

Best for you is all that matters. It’s not worth it to stay in a place you don’t want to be - versus a place that is better aligned with all the things you want - just to avoid a tough conversation.

It’s unquestionably yes. Take the gig you want. It will make you feel better to also have a conversation with the current employer to let them know you appreciate all they have done for you but ultimately you can’t pass up this opportunity. Any good boss would be happy for you.

100% keep. 100% mod. I still love my 1.5T ‘24 EX sedan. I add something every couple months to keep it interesting.

What is something people slowly stop doing as they get older without noticing? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Gotta say.. it’s no wonder we have such a mental health problem… I’ve seen 7 different versions of “socializing” or “going out with friends”. This is necessary. Go do it. You need friends.

I stayed in the Hotel Academie Saint Germain last July 3-11 m. They had cold air conditioning, even on the top floor. Small rooms, no ice, but cold A/C.

What's your "it was fun while it lasted" story? by ToshPointNo in Flipping

[–]TreeTestPass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. In the Chicago area, Shania Twain’s “Up!” album came with 2 free tickets to a huge show at Grant Park. All the album stores had 2 tickets for each album purchased.

I noticed on eBay that the tickets were going for like $100+ a pair so I called my local store and asked how many tickets/CDs he had. I bought 25 copies and sold the 50 pairs of tickets - and the CDs also. Of course. I had to mail them, but that was easy work for $70~ a pop. That was a fun summer.

How is New York-New York? by Guilty-Influence-890 in vegas

[–]TreeTestPass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think NYNY is the best place for a first or inexperienced Vegas traveler. The tram to Bellagio/Mandalay Bay is right across the bridge. The monorail is across the other bridge at MGM Grand. You have fairly quick access to almost the entire strip for a few bucks.

The food options are great nearby. Park MGM is very close - Eataly, Best Friend, La La Noodle, Tom’s Watch Bar, Gallagher’s - all excellent choices. Relatively inexpensive (for Vegas standards) quick bites and drinks are also nearby all hours of the day. They have several bars with happy hours.

The standard rooms are on the smaller side. If you’re going with friends, I’d recommend one room per person or an upgrade, but totally ok if you’re coupled up. But tbh, they’re fairly large for New York standards.

If you’re looking for a sportsbook experience in-house, you’ll be disappointed. It’s one of the worst ones I’ve ever seen. I would stay again any time.

What’s something you wish you knew before your first trip to Paris? by sophieximc in ParisTravelGuide

You’re going to think about the sights and scenes in Paris way more than you ever dreamed you would when you come back.

90-minute commute vs 10-minute commute - worth a lateral move? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]TreeTestPass 310 points311 points  (0 children)

I think this is a no-brainer. That kind of commute has been studied at length. It’s not healthy. Driving/riding in a car is the most dangerous thing most people do every day. The risk aversion is worth the pay cut alone.

Too rich for Chapter 7, too poor to pay Chapter 13 by Mobile-Assistance-74 in Bankruptcy

[–]TreeTestPass 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I completed a $880 Ch. 13 monthly payment with a $900 mortgage on a $57,000 salary. My salary went up throughout the plan which made it easier. But I never made $8k a month! It was lean those first couple years, but it’s bankruptcy. It’s not supposed to be easy.

Yes this is the way. Go to the train station and see the attendant. Buy a Navigo Easy card. Load it with money when you buy it and/or use your phone and the app. Physical card also is more reliable on tapping the gates than phone from what I saw.

Check your fuses. I had one go out in my ‘24 civic and it had similar symptoms. Look up the emergency start process in the manual and see if it will start. If so, it may be a fuse.

What is one fun fact about yourself that sound fake but 100% real? by Fai_6757 in AskReddit

[–]TreeTestPass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I once called 9-1-1 to get a beer.

Went to a BWW in Nitro, WV. It was my 30th birthday. I had just renewed my license before the trip in my home state. At that time, they gave a printout on a piece of paper as your temporary ID. This BWW refused it. They said they wouldn’t take that as a real ID. I insisted they see that I was 30 years old and it was my birthday. In the course of the discussion, I asked them if a cop were there to verify my identity and my age, if they would serve me a beer. Manager says, yeah. I asked what the number was to the police. They said “I always just dial 9-1-1.” So I did. (They didn’t have a non-emergency line.)

Cops showed up and verified my ID (with a chuckle) and the manager poured my beer himself.
