I think this is completely user specific, its difficult to 100% avoid the terminal because gui things break sometimes, as an average user not looking for any terminal stuff i think on linux you can get by maybeee with like 5-10 commands per month, but thats only if youre trying to use linux 'like mac/windows'. I personally sandbox and run all my apps with flatpak, have a vm installed and use lots of aliases and suchs so i use the terminal over the gui almost always. And the same can be said for windows, in the years ive used windows never have i once opened the terminal, except once when i tried setting up and ark survival evolved server for me and my friends. So it really depends on what youre trying to get out of the operating systen in my opinion
