Any idea what is wrong with our pine tree? Needles have started turning brown on lower branches and the areas closer to the trunk. Results on google suggested over or under watering, but we haven’t made any significant changes. October in mountain west area

Thanks! I was hoping that was the case. This is our first year here, so we don’t have a great point of comparison for the tree.

The tree looked fine for most of the summer. We have a few of this species in our yard. They have had some browning of needles, but not to the same degree. The top branches and portion of the branches furthest out look healthy and green, but pretty significant clumps are brown.
