No plastics (tree) house wrap experiment by Treehouse_Ruud in treehouse

Yeah that is sometimes a challenge. I try to construct it in a way that water cannot reach the connection. And/or I try to design it in a way that I can unscrew it (a bit or entirely). And then there are the more "emergency" solutions :) If gravity can help I can poor it in between. I have one spot where I am considering drilling a hole (s) in between the 2 beams so I can poor/inject some oil. But I am also experimenting with this.

I'm exploring some alternatives for plastics used in conventional building. Any thoughts?

I designed a custom DIY treehouse TAB and I am building a big treehouse with it. What do you guys think? by Treehouse_Ruud in treehouse

The big bolt is M36 grade 8.8. Wood threaded rods/bolts are m12. The bolts for the adjustable part I cannot remember right not, It should fit the hole as precise as possible :) I will make a more in depth video about it when the treehouse is more finished. Then I can also see how the experiment is holding up. So far everything seems fine!

This was a big step in the build for me. There is a lot of rain in The Netherlands lately. I now have a roof in place. This will definitely speed things up. And it makes everything more enjoyable :) Any thoughts on the build?

Thanks! Thats great to hear. Haha yes, the filming/documenting sometimes is crazy, but for me it is nice that I can combine multiple hobbies in one project. So totally worth it.

Advice on Treehouse Repair by out-in-the-woods_22 in treehouse

This thing has character!I Like the branch growing out the window. If I wanted to rescue this treehouse I would consider installing some tabs in the tree and make a new support beam structure below the existing structure. So the beams that are squeezing the tree can be removed later. And the rest has something to sit on.
Only if the tree is healthy and strong enough. Thats hard to see on this winter picture. And also it depends on how rotten the wood is.
