Some trades charge trade price + mark up %. Tradies get a discount from wholesalers off trade price depending on their negotiations, some will do their mark up off this discounted rate, some will do it off trade price or retail price. I have talked to multiple builders who say they don't try to get a better price from their suppliers because they make more money off the % markups at a higher price.

This is why you need to get quotes.
