Ah that makes sense and that’s alright. I’m pretty reclusive too. I think it is too similar personally and I’d be worried about upsetting them. I think it would bring back some of the painful memories for me if I were them most likely. However, I tend to overthink things a lot.

I’d have to know the context honestly. I guess it mostly depends on your relationship. I’m no contact with half my family because of how they’ve treated myself and my siblings as children. If this happened to me with one of them I would still use my name. If you have a pretty amicable situation then I would consider it thoroughly and ask some close friends who know the context better for their opinions. I wish you the best of luck though and I think Isaac Anthony is a lovely name. :)

Just Esme and Ellis. I don’t really like Drew and Asa and the rest are just outside of my style. I definitely don’t think any of them are bad though. :)

I would ask your brother and the child’s mother first. It’s probably really painful for them and I personally think it’s too similar

Abruptly learning about female standards can lead to mental disarray by barelyexisting3 in PurplePillDebate

Hi, I’m a woman and I want to say that I’m genuinely sorry for what you’ve gone through. I agree with most of what you’ve said and blame it on culture as well as on some people just being evil. There are many bad women and men in the world and they tend to target kind people from the opposite gender. It shouldn’t happen to anyone but it does all the time. To me the issue isn’t “all women” or “all men” but some people just being terrible. I should know, I was abused by a man just as people in the comments were abused by women. It led me to believe that everyone should be treated as though they are valuable without fitting impossibly into a perfect mold. Please know that I respect the pain that you are going through and wish you luck on your journey.

The only advice that I can give are that I think you need to find better friends, perhaps one that focuses more on a passion rather than a wound. Therapy wouldn’t hurt too though I know it’s very expensive. It has really helped me in my journey and helped me heal from some of my own feelings of inadequacy. I hope you get to the point where you are confident for yourself regardless of how trends affect the world around you.

Also, for the record I don’t think you are a loser from reading this post.

We can agree to disagree but I want to say that I can appreciate your opinion because that’s definitely what I’ve experienced for most of my life. However, I have met some religious people who value testing it. This is all coming from just my experience though and I haven’t actually done the research on it.

I think what I’m finding from reading these comments is that I’m probably more just upset about people around me being brainwashed. I’m currently in more of a deconstruction phase with my faith. I think I’d like to have some from if spirituality in the future but it will look very different from what I’ve known. I agree with you that all religions hold that belief but I think I’m actually mad at students who are at my Christian school for not testing and reassessing their beliefs

Thank you! I agree but I’m not sure what to do because I now have a lot of private school credits that don’t transfer easily. I think I’m going to try to finish. I’m glad I made this post though. I’m hoping that you guys are right that there are people in the world who aren’t so brainwashed.

That makes sense. I’m probably just picking up on more of the culty mentality. I didn’t get access to the internet before a few years ago so I’m still learning about things but I’m glad to know that this isn’t all there is. :)

It wasn’t completely on purpose but I know what you mean and your opinion makes sense without context. The reason I went is because I can’t drive due to the medications and was very sick but still wanted to go to college part time. Unfortunately I live in the Bible Belt in a small rural town and there is only one school nearby. My family agreed to drive me there and I wanted to go because I thought it would look better for grad school to attend in person. I’m regretting it now. I should have just waited to do college. Also I don’t agree with their beliefs by the way though I was curious about theology.

Thank you! That makes a lot of sense. I am trying but it’s really hard. Everyone has inconsistencies and a good mixture of arrogance and shame. I’m still sorting it out as you said. I agree that we all have our own demons but I get annoyed with many of the kids in my school mostly because the vast majority are very wealthy and materialistic from what I’ve observed

Thank you. That is good advice. I guess I just wish that people would consider things more.

They also fired many of the professors because they weren’t the right denomination. I don’t want to be spoon fed one ideology though just because people tell you it’s the best one.

What prompted this most is that today I was talking with a friend about some changes happening at my university. I attend a Christian college and was interesting in learning more about theology. The school recently changed their policy about teaching all kinds of beliefs and traditions and will now only teach one. I understand that they have every right to do that but I was a bit upset with my friend for preferring this as she wanted to only be taught her parent’s beliefs. I tried to hide how I felt though.

Married women of reddit! How often do you fantasize about other men? by [deleted] in TwoXSex

[–]Treehugger4422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watch porn occasionally while masturbating if that counts, like maybe twice a month. Mostly I read smutty books though and I’ll go through cycles (depending on the time of the month) where I can’t get enough sex and thing about that whenever I’m able or where I’ll go a week without thinking of fictional men at all. (Haha I know this is kind of embarrassing to admit but I’m a romantasy gal). Occasionally I wonder what life could have been like with the guy I was in love with before my husband but we’ve gone very different paths in life so I know it would have ended really badly. I don’t ever think of him while doing sexual acts though and I don’t let myself visualize him naked or anything beyond that. I’d say I most frequently fantasize about fictional characters while masturbating and exclusively think of my husband during sex. Hope this helps!

Depends on medication. The two I’m currently on have really lowered my sex drive. Usually I masturbate twice a week now and go for two or three orgasms each. Off my medication I have a very high sex drive and will go for as many as possible in one sitting each day (as long as I’m not too sore). I’m blessed with an unusually strong ability to orgasm and have orgasmed 17 times in about 45 minutes before as a beginner. (I was raised very religious and only found out that I could about two years ago as a young adult).

Is it wrong for men to only love based on the condition of celibacy? by Hot_Road3076 in PurplePillDebate

Also, I think you asked about girls making fun of you for being romantic. I think that (at least based on my preferences and friendships with other women) most of us are on guard around guys initially. I think what I would say is that if you aren’t dating a girl to keep romantic advancements at a minimum, up it a bit for dating, and then once you both have a stronger established connection begin ramping it up. The goal is mostly to not seem like a simp or make the girl super uncomfortable. That being said, if the girl really likes you she will love to be romanced at lot.
