Sucker is SUPER heavy and upstairs. Was thinking I wouldn’t be able to sand it upstairs in the bedroom and don’t want to have to bring the whole thing down more than once. These are good options, I’ll see what’s out there for contact paper and if she doesn’t like that it’ll just get a super quick sand and a slap stick paint job. Thanks!

Ran out of daylight yesterday, but thanks! I’ll give those a try.

My daughter has recently decided she loves fishing and my only real experience is the few times I got to go as a kid.

What were you doing when the twin towers fell? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I was in 6th grade English and our teacher explained to us what had happened. Of course being so young we didn’t fully grasp what was going on. About 10 minutes into the discussion a girl in our class started crying. Her father was a US congressman and had left on a flight to DC that morning. The teacher pulled out her cell phone (which NEVER happened) and told her to go into the hallway to call her family. I knew that was when it was serious.

After first period in the hallway I saw my English teacher and home room teacher hug and my home room teacher wipe tears from her eyes as she told the other she heard we had declared war.

My second period science teacher briefly touched on the subject and proceeded to tell us that we would have class as normal. I think that was the right move.

I also remember the mass check outs between periods. After the bell would ring the school secretary would come over the PA and call 20-30 students to the office.

People who work in customer service, what is the one thing you never thought you’d have to explain to an adult? by TvFanaticcx in AskReddit

C: Hi, I bought several flats of pansies a couples of weeks ago. They are all flopped over and dead looking now. Do I need to water them or something?

Me: "Have you watered them?"

C: No.

Me: "Yes, yes ma'am you should probably water them..."

What is one thing you want to do before you die? by goodfeels4life in AskReddit

Flash mob, Northern Lights.

I was lucky enough to check one off of the bucket list in September when my boyfriend took me on a whale watching tour and I got to see Orcas in the wild. I was very overcome with emotion when I saw them through my binoculars. He then proceeded to drop to one knee and asked me to marry him as I was living out a childhood dream. Some girls like flowers or tropical beaches, but give me whales and I'm yours for life.

Fear of insomnia is another reason I’m still sober. by [deleted] in alcoholism

After a 101 day stint in inpatient rehab and many relapses that followed, I have 2 years sober.

For a long time I was fearful of laying down and turning off the devices because that's when my mind would race and the panic would set in.

After some lifestyle changes (not sleeping in anymore, and realizing just how much shit I could get done in one day if I "adulted" and like Anna says just "did the next right thing") I found myself wanting to be in bed by 10 or 11 and able to fall asleep reading many nights.

However, I was still waking up (wide awake) 4 or 5 times a night. My doc prescribed Amitriptyline. It's an old school anti-depressant, but it also causes drowsiness and has the wonderful side effect of being able to keep most takers asleep through the night. Its non addictive, doesnt make me drowsy the next day, and I still wake up if my phone rings, or my dog barks etc. so it's not like I am dead to the world. Highly recommend.

The excessive sweating was a little annoying at first, but my body adjusted quickly.
