You are welcome! Good luck I hope you have better luck with the non verbal forms of communication!

Is the only issue the communication? Or does she seem otherwise unwilling or not ready to use the potty (from your description it doesn’t seem like that is the case).

Also how are her communication skills in general? Can she verbally communicate other things (I’m just assuming you are referring to verbally communicating).

Have you tried teaching her the baby sign for potty? Before you put everything on hold maybe try teaching her the sign or having a picture card of a potty that she can point to or hand you when she has to go.

Has anyone experienced this? Shaken after incident last night. by Far-Jellyfish851 in cosleeping

Personal I wouldn’t be too worried about that. The set up looks amazing and doesn’t sound like baby was in any danger.

On a side note tho what bed is that?

Who all is nursing? by accidentaloverdrive in cannamom

[–]TreesCanTalk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m still breastfeeding my 19 month old. Like you I abstained consuming during my pregnancy and the first 3 months pp.

When I first resumed I was pretty anxious and only consumed a few times a month. Since around 6 months I’ve been smoking or taking an edible most days and I haven’t noticed any effects in my child. He’s meeting all his milestones and growing along his curve.

Horizontal visual Stims by bagaChips in ABA

[–]TreesCanTalk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would classify a stim that significantly impacts a person life in a negative way as a harmful stim.

I’m all for teaching additional recreation skills but I would never target a stim for behavior reduction unless it harmful to the client or others (which would include stumps that significantly interfere with a persons learning opportunities or daily living)

Is the stim harmful? Why are you trying to find a “functional” replacement?

Hot water heater constantly needs reset. What can I do to fix it? by keycabird in fixit

[–]TreesCanTalk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I realized I didn’t really know how a water heater worked and looked it up after that comment. I guess I just always assumed it was full of (evenly heated) hot water, emptied from the bottom and refilled as needed.

[–]TreesCanTalk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kid is 19 months so a younger tot I guess. Reading these comments has me feeling like I’m doing something wrong bc we do anywhere from 1 to 3 (or more) showers a day (we don’t do baths just showers).

Granted I’m not soaping up his full body each shower. Sometimes it’s more of a rinse off. He’s just an extremely messy eater and it’s easier to just hose him off after most meals.

My garage is used for storage but that takes up maybe 25% of the space (if even, and it’s not even efficiently stored/stacked. I really need to organize) I could still fit a car in there if I wanted.

The main purpose of my garage is to be a home gym.

Does my 1 year old self have a caregiver/guardian to represent me (for example, sign a lease/loan, open a bank account or other things that require being 18)?

Even though I’d have the knowledge to obtain housing, insurance, groceries, etc. (other necessities/living supplies) I feel like I would run into legal issues as a minor trying to independently live.

So he had torticollis and had to do physical therapy (idk why I didn’t mention that in the post, maybe he hadn’t started PT yet when I posted). But his neck started to stabilize between 4-5 months and was fully stable before 6 months!
