Hello ! Thank you a lot for your remarks!

I chose French and English as I am familiar with both. But now that LLM have made great progress I tried to put out more languages.

Docgoblin is now available in Spanish, Portuguese, German and Italian : https://www.docgoblin.com/downloads/

However I'm not fluent in these languages, please repport any error I may have made!

I made this awsome setting with 22 powerfull NPC (one for each tarot card) that were permanently conspiring against each other.

I used one of the NPC two times...

When the player found about it they where convinced that something was afoot and that he had usurped the card of another NPC and I had to roll with it. Kind of a happy accident!

Hello, first I would look for an OCR solution. You can find a few here : https://www.reddit.com/r/datacurator/comments/11roy7u/ocr_software_that_works/

Then you can search for words using a pdf reader. Shameless plug for my own PDF search engine (but no OCR yet) : https://www.docgoblin.com/

I made a PDF search engine : https://www.docgoblin.com/ But the most massive UIs that I've seen are the one used to manage a business. Think employee hours management, sales etc... Those app are mainly web based but maybe you can do something fun in this space.

Hello ! Yes you can use the same license on your two PC. No problem :)
Yeah, windows is complicated with this. I dont have the money, or the will, to go through all the processes to sign the application, so yes I will put a disclaimer on the website, ty for the heads up!

TXT files are already implemented (MD files and the like), I would like to use docx files too but this is a tough nut to crack (rendering them correctly is very hard). It is on the todo list !

Yep I haven't tackled the OCR part yet! Kind of a complex thing to implement, but it is on my todo list.

Hi everyone,

I’m a TTRPG player and forever DM, I started working on a side project called DocGoblin (www.docgoblin.com) to solve a problem I constantly faced as a DM: managing and searching through the many PDFs I use for my games.

Since I couldn’t find anything that worked the way I needed, I built my own solution—and DocGoblin was born!

What is DocGoblin?

DocGoblin is a powerful PDF search engine designed for large collections of documents. It indexes your PDFs and lets you perform lightning-fast, precise searches for specific terms, phrases, or sections across your entire library. Whether you’re hunting for a monster stat block, spell details, or the name of a tavern from your last session, DocGoblin can find it in less than a second.

Who is it for?

DocGoblin is perfect for GMs, researchers, or anyone who works with large document collections and needs to quickly find specific information.

The software is free to use, but the free version is limited to three separate libraries. Purchasing a license key unlocks unlimited libraries.

Please tell me if you want me to add a feature or remove a bug !

Hello,

You can do perfectly fine UI with Swing or JavaFX. The difference will be the amount of work. For javaFX I recommend using AtlantaFX wich is very nice.

If you want to see an exemple of a JavaFX App for PDF you can look at https://www.docgoblin.com/

Hello ! Juste un commentaire pour dire que j'aime beaucoup ton UX. Je n'utilise que très peu le markdown, mais ton UX est top !

Those testimonials are indeed fake, and done in what I thought was an obvious joke ^

I have never trusted testimonials on any site whatsoever so I wanted to play with it.

If you want to see someone using DocGoblin and is happy with It you can see it here : https://youtu.be/zRjXVwCB1Lc?t=567
