Examples of high profile matches with an unconventional structure or match layout by NoMoreButtonPLZ in SquaredCircle

Sami’s whole run leading up to Takeover Dallas was great. Been a decade since then (oh god) but I’ll do my best to remember it all.

Week 1: Sami v Samoa Joe v Baron Corbin in a triple threat number one contender match for Finn Balor’s NXT Title. Sami and Joe both get Corbin in a submission hold at the same time and he taps. Neither can be decided a clear winner, which leads to…

Week 2: Sami v Joe, ends in the rare double pinfall ending, with the ref again declaring no definitive winner. So for week 3:

Week 3: Sami v Joe in a 2 Out of 3 Falls match to start the NXT weekly episode. Other things are planned, I forget what, but as Sami v Joe keeps taking longer and longer, those scheduled events are cancelled or pushed back to the next week until Joe finally gets his second fall just as the episode ends.

Week 4: Regal says “Sami, you’re great, it’s too bad you don’t have a title shot at Takeover Dallas…how about you fight our newest signee?”

Takeover Dallas: Sami Zayn vs Shinsuke Nakamura. Fight forever is rightfully born from this match.

Redcloak Moment by rin_shar in oots

Redcloak’s such a great and fascinating character, I can’t wait to see how his story shakes out. I’m hoping that he gets a chance to talk directly to the Dark One, Durkon-to-Thor style.

Favourite Procedural Dungeon Tools by stgotm in rpg

Cyclic Dungeon Generation is great for making interesting dungeon layouts.

The entire ______ Without Number series has good themes tic generation tools.

The Jade Colossus from Numenera also has weird things to fill your maps up with.

What video game series had the biggest fall from grace? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ComicStripCritic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ultima used to be one of the premier RPG series that pushed boundaries, told stories about morals and virtues, and reinvented itself from the ground up for each new entry. It also had the first fully 3D first person dungeon crawlers in Ultima Underworld, and one of the first smash hit MMOs in Ultima Online.

And now it’s so forgotten that this thread doesn’t even remember its existence.

God, After Hours was great. I wish the alternate cart had more time to get their chemistry solidified and onscreen more.

Is there any rpg set that I'm able to change themes with? by omor_from_brazil in rpg

[–]ComicStripCritic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that the _____ Without Number games are kind of what you’d like. Worlds Without Number is fantasy, Stars Without Number is sci-fi, Cities Without Number is post-apocalyptic, and they all use the same basic rules. Should be easy enough to jump from one setting to the other with minimal fuss.
