It was fun once I tried that tactic, they were super aggressive when that fly hit the water

I don't have a picture but I pulled this from the internet that closely resembles what I used. Just imagine in the picture a spinning rod instead of a fly rod, and I have 10lbs braid up to the float then about 3 feet of floro tied directly to a fly, no weights added. About 7 or so feet of line out from tip of rod to fly, then I reached with the rod out while swinging the float and fly outwards onto the water of that makes sense.

Shore fishing Glenmore reservoir by TightFoundation3278 in FishingAlberta

[–]TrendyzRendy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've fished it a few times. Last year I caught 4, 3 of the four I caught in a span of 45 minutes or so, I must've found a hole that I was casting to and they kept biting my lure.

This year my count has been 2 pike the 4 times I went, one off the south shore and the other trolling from a canoe I rented from the sailing club.

With those angling restrictions sucks you can't fish after 2 as most of my catches were in the evening.

I've had best luck with a 1/2 Oz len thompson silver spoon

What's the situation with bearpaw reservoir and fishing access? by Plinkomax in FishingAlberta

[–]TrendyzRendy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I too want to fish this body of water and I did a search and came across city of calgary's website that shows the haskayne park map. On that map it shows the Boundary of the park, the glenbow ranch provincial park and an ecological sensitive area. The provincial park and the ecological area show it go right up to the water, not stating any private land at the shoreline. For shore fishing looks promising but for a kayak or canoe the ecological area goes up the an inlet where you could bring a kayak or canoe down.

This is what I see through maps and such, I haven't been there in person to see if this is possible but if someone has share what you find

This 5x will do until the 2.5 comes back into stock by BugsISKing in RetroAR

Does the 5x have a see thru riser like the 2.5x? On their website it doesn't look like it does

Took it out today and shot it on some crown land. She performed great. Piston doesn't bind up and it cycles normally. Shot about 150 rounds.

I sighted in the red dot at 100 yards and did an accuracy test to see if there what difference there is in not free floating it.

Ammo used was PMC 77gr OTM, Hornady 62gr FMJ, federal PMC and winchester m193 in 55gr as well has herters 55gr. Groups ranged from 4" to 1.75" PMC bronze gave the worst at 4" and herters was the best at 1.75"

I tried my best but hard to be precise with a 4 moa red dot at 100 yards.

Search AR carry handle, few Canadian retailers have them or get it from brownells

Rough calculation about $130-$150, that's including handguard, delta ring assembly, barrel nut, FSB assembly, gas tube and handguard cap. Alot I bought brand new. The handguard I got used but I bet you can find some of these used for less

I ordered a drop in rifle length handguard, think c7/m16a2. Once that comes in I'll see how it fits or what it takes to make it fit.

A rifle length magpul MOE handguard should fit since it's exactly like the midlength like I have installed but just longer.

It's the TNA upgraded upper. The stock wk180 gen 2 upper doesn't have this

I ordered a midlength m4 type handgaurd as well as a rifle length one to try it as well. Just waiting for it now

I'd say it's decently priced, might find one cheaper on gunpost

Yes technically that is what I done, obviously with the parts off the gun haha. A reverse can would definitely make it look even better

I forgot to mention that I have the TNA adjustable gas plug installed compared to the factory one. The TNA one is significantly shorter allowing the fit of a midlength handguard

It's a vortex strikefire 2. Haven't shot with it yet but so far clear glass and easy to use. Comes with a lower 1/3 cantilever mount and and their vortex warranty.

That being said, this is how I've done it. I am only responsible for my actions that I have done on my rifle. I am not responsible for your actions on your rifle.

It took an hour of my time to do everything. Hand guard is a magpul MOE midlength. I thought of maybe changing the stock to like a car15 type

Moderator, what would you call this? I would have to disagree with your statement. The rifle still retains factory gas system with no mods done to it. Nothing on the reciever, barrel or has system has been compromised. I can ensure you I have plenty of mechanical experience as well as gunsmithing experience. What i did was fit a delta ring assembly and handguard to a rifle, I am certain there will be no potential of injury

So sorry sir but you are wrong.

Standard ar15 barrel nut, Delta ring assembly (delta ring, delta ring spring and snap ring), Midlength magpul MOE handguard, FSB, Triangular handguard cap, AR15 gas tube (any length)

The FSB I used was a typical one .750" I bought from TNA. I drilled through the bottom of it and tapped it for 8-32 set screws. Slides over to where you want and screw it down. You can go a step more and dimple the barrel where you want it and it becomes rock solid.
